So do you think eventually Iran will take more drastic measures in an attempt to acquire nuclear weapons? I'm talking possibly 15-30 years down the road.

I don't think anyone can predict that far out. TBH, I'm more hoping that the appeal of American culture can solve this much better than economic sanctions or wars (what with the pretty terrible track record of either).

It'll likely depend on who succeeds Khameni as Ayatollah. Also whether it's a relatively moderate government at that time (as it is at the moment) or whether it's a hardline government like it was under Ahmadinejad.

If it's a moderate government and a moderate Ayatollah that win out you'll likely see a peaceful rise of the people protesting for more powers and more reforms. If it's a hardline government you may well see another revolution to topple that regime.

Iran is a country like Turkey--there is a large moderate urban class, but there are also plenty of conservatives. I think another Iranian revolution is very unlikely unless something drastically changes.

Hmm I can think of a few. Make them give up on Hezbollah, stop burning American and Israeli flags, stop chanting death to America, stop publishing books about "How to destroy Israel and outwit America."
just read this, lol......

you'd be the worst negotiator for the US ever

none of the items on your list, save for hezbollah would make any irl difference

you'd just secure a bunch of meaningless symbolic victories

and then iran would **** your wife

It's hard to predict, but I'm betting no. 15-30 years down the road, we'll have 15-30 years of track record and tentative trust building.

Also, they don't want to give Saudi Arabia an excuse to get nukes. SA has made it pretty clear, "If Iran gets nukes, we get nukes," and that would not make Iran happy.

Now, if they think they're in serious danger of their country being invaded if they don't, then they may begin a sudden push for nukes, but if we aren't the ones doing that, I think they'll be happy to simply do deal extensions and the like.

It's also split very much down generational lines which means the next Ayatollah will either reflect growing moderate opinion and things can more forward or incite backlash for being to reflective of an older generation.

There's also the fact that once sanctions are lifted any action which puts them back in place and stops any newly acquired wealth going to the Iranian people will not be well received.

It's looking like there's enough support that the opposition may not have enough to bring it to a vote in the senate, let alone bringing it to Obama's desk for a veto.

Some squabbling among the Republicans has also delayed their attempt to vote- they have 7 more days before the 60 day resolution window closes.

Lets see what the Ayatollah does this week. He may very well convince some democrats.

Boehner to potentially sue Obama over Iran deal. Seems like fluff, but then these people are insane.

Boehner has a boner for Obama, no way he sue's.

What can I say? You're all degenerate, worthless, trash. You're also all stupid as ****. You're existence requires a Robespierre to fix.

Behold, the typical rationale of an unemployed, uneducated atheist liberal. We expect you to leave the country and become someone else's burden if the Republicans win 2016. 😄 🙂

This sounds like something a republican would say. Liberals are politically correct.

He's a hypocritical liberal and usually a self hating American. The type that blames everyone else for his failures.

Too many liberals are enamored by the luxury ethics of a capitalist economy. Too quick to tolerate, too quick to embrace.

I'm a leftist who wants all Republicans to die.

In other words, an ignorant buffoon? I understand where a majority of my taxes are going now.

On another note, I could say the same thing about the left being a blight on society but I think I'll take the high road which we wouldn't expect you to follow 😂

The Republicans are passing liberal policy in the House and Senate. So you must like some of them.

He's one of those kids you just point at and laugh because nothing intelligent will ever come out of their mouths. I have sympathy for the guy so I'll stop and I suggest you do the same.
