Yes, Superman's ability to perform surgery on someones brain is a pretty potent ability; no doubt, but lets not overstate things and act like this is something special...it isnt.
Over the years, several characters have recovered from worse than having their brain damaged; they've recovered from having their entire bodies destroyed...
And as a point of comparison, thats what makes Thor's Soul Suck so potent; most characters have no defense to it at all...
Physical Invulnerability? Useless...
Massive Regeneration? Useless...
Unless a character has innate resistance to spiritual attack (or simply lacks a soul), Soul Suck is a pretty much a one shot kill...
Your Superman bias is preventing you from realizing the truth; Soul Suck trumps lobotomy...
