Putting a clock display in a homemade bomb is a lot of effort for something you take time to build. If I was planning to bomb something that'd seem like a hassle.

anyone who thinks that a circuit board hooked to a digital display with nothing else might be a 'bomb' has no business teaching any sort of engineering oriented field... also their right to vote/breed should be revoked

I do have a question though, people have called this racial profiling and all that stuff and it probably was.

My question would be has racial profiling ever helped save a lot of people? As in..a bomb was thwarted because someone saw a Muslim and got nervous and it turned out the person had a bomb.

I guess I'm wondering if it ever helps a situation or if racial profiling does nothing but hinder.

But you're talking about guaranteed murder. Murder would have to happen for the crime rate to fall.

You might say murder could happen as a result of racial profiling, but it wouldn't be guaranteed.

My post was meant to be an hypothetical scenario emulating the one you proposed.

i do think racial profiling is a legit police tactic tbh

profiling is inherent in criminal justice... so saying that particular characteristics are off limits for building a profile for the sake of 'civil rights,' while probably well intentioned, is counter productive and irrational. also it will really come down to a cop's discretion.. so there's no real strategy for enforcing the rule that racial profiling not be used

We can argue specifics about profiling in a separate thread, since it could be interesting. But I am under the impression that debating here would pollute the discussion quickly.
