Reforming himself from complete destruction is something he's done before, so not so sure he's dead-dead. For all we know, he wanted everything that happened, to happen.
Really depends where they want to go with the character and his powers. But yeah, this show thus far has shit on his powers as we've seen in the graphic novel and then comics.

So Manhattan really wasnt all that powerful.Underwhelming Finale. As well as the end twist. Was hoping the end reveal to be
Spoiler:
Manhattan duplicates being around instead... But I guess that would mean Manhattan was still around.

Don't forget lesbian. Black, female, and gay. The Lefty Trinity of identity politics. 👆
This show has been somewhat recommended to me, so I'll try to check it out at some point.
Got around to finishing this. It's highs were high, but its lows were also pretty low. Overall, it ended up a 7/10 for me.
I loved everything with Hooded Justice, Angela, and Looking Glass. They delivered the 10/10 content.
I hated everything they did with Manhattan (this was the most egregious fuk up). I was hoping for a solid explanation but it never came. He should have just been left out of the show IMO. He just ended up feeling out of character. I really hated the explanation for what he did when he left Earth. Dude left the galaxy to create life. All he did in the show was go to Jupiter's moon and make a half assed little pocket of Earth with trees, grass, and shitty/stupid little human clones. His created life was a joke.
I enjoyed Ozy's side story but his stuff on Europa should have been wrapped up in half the time. It's also kind of lame that everything he went through were problems he placed himself into and manufactured. It felt like padding. I also enjoyed Irons, but IMO he wasn't a good Ozy. He ended up an even bigger miscasting than Goode in the movie IMO. Too much of an obvious apathetic, megalomaniac. Everything about him screamed villain. It's the same trap Game of Thrones fell for with Littlefinger. They should have made him more charismatic and pragmatic. None of this "worthy adversary" or 'monologuing while the hero sneaks up behind me with a wrench" bs he pulled. It was also weird seeing him catch the bullet from that rifle in his old age. He barely managed it in his prime. Am I to believe that old man Ozy is able to casually pull that off 40 years later? It felt like they just put it in for an "Oh shit" moment retread of the comic.
Everything went a bit too comic-booky at the end. The 7th Cavalry ended up a joke that wasn't worth all the build up (incredibly flawed master plan). Trieu's (cool character) master plan was boring and she ended up typical ultimate villain being foiled type shit (complete opposite of her dad). Angela, Blake, and Looking Glass basically just watched the finale play out while doing fuk all (the world got saved solely by Ozy and Manhattan). Great set up, but awful ending. IMO they should have gone more grounded and just explored the Cavalry, masked police force, Cyclops conspiracy, and the fallout from Ozy's plan being outed to the world. All that is infinitely more interesting than everyones ultimate "I want to become Manhattan" plan.
Also, Lubeman never showed back up. I thought he'd have some smart tie in, but no. It was a one off pointless scene of Blakes retarded assistant suiting up. What was the point?
