Regarding the reset of your post the USA had help of other nations when fighting Iraq, but overall the war was seen as an utter failure.
And regarding Israel, Israel can take over Palestine whenever they want. They have no real opposition from Palestine. They can go in and mow the lawn with very little casualties. Settlements are being built in Palestine as we speak. The only thing keeping Israel in check is the a backlash from other countries. As we've seen a year or so ago.
