I didn't know it ever stopped being a target.

The ones that we really need to be laying the blame on are the polticians that are allowing said people into the county just so they can fast track them to citizen ship thus buying their votes with the lives of a large number of potentially innocent victims.

Terrorists would get into the country regardless of accepting refugees or not.

3/4ths of a million refugees have come in since September 11th.

None of them have been arrested on terrorist charges.

This is just paranoia and xenophobia.

Like Lucien said, cheap scapegoating. We're a country with a looong history of immigrants, taking in people is no big deal.

And I will point out the obvious that the US is a nation of immigrants with a long history of priding itself on taking in immigrants.

The anti-immigrant/refugee stuff is quite un-American in a blatant way.

The US has never really been good about acceptance of other cultures, to be honest.

Even if it is a case of xenophobia it's well justified. It's not because in-tolerance or racism but just a result of the times we live in. It's also a good thing to scrutinize any decision that brings a vast amount of immigrants into your country even if it's just for economic concerns.

I don't think America should ever stop welcoming immigrants and refugees that are looking for a better way of life but i also believe there should be a period of stipulation involved before granting, citizenship. Profiling can be an effective tool.
