I've got no problem actually checking, but a lot of the responses have nothing to do with keeping us safe, and much more to do with keeping everyone in the groups painted as an enemy.
As for profiling and similar... There's been 24 attacks by the 'Sovereign Citizens' movement in the last 5 years, and the Department of Homeland Security fears they're a growing threat, and that's one group.
An organization called New America Foundation did a study and found- "Almost twice as many people have died in attacks by right-wing groups in America than have died in attacks by Muslim extremists. Of the 26 attacks since 9/11 that the group defined as terror, 19 were carried out by non-Muslims. "
A tally of the attacks indicates white americans are the most common source of terrorism in the US. Law enforcement across the country regularly cite home-grown groups as a bigger threat to American lives, and the Department of Homeland security has noted similar.
So... I do think the fear-level directed at Muslims in the US is disproportionate. They aren't even the most likely to kill me in a terrorist attack, after all!
Replace "muslim" with "American" in that quote though, and no one seems to have a problem with it. 🙄

Most people here are so amazingly naive when it comes to jihadists it makes me itch. These people would as soon kill you as breathe on you, and deserve no excuses to be made for them.
They dont respect human life. Period.
