I ... find your perspective that shows like this can persuade a child to the "evil side" a bit naive.

How intense does propaganda have to be before it influences human behavior on a significant scale? How would you go about measuring such a thing? Especially by Biblically significant standards? How would you know if you yourself were or are being affected? Might be good to have one thread or more titled and/or asking those very questions.

I can't speak for all parents & children & I won't hide or use statistics & surveys to judge whether I'm a good parent or not.

Statistics might be a good tool for determining the effects of a policy or new change on a populace, no?

Yes, there are dysfunctional families worldwide but you're implying that America's youth has a higher risk of turning to Satan by watching this show?

Personally? I view this more of a barometer than anything else. Popular culture is quite inundated with themes and imagery that, BIBLICALLY, not secularly but Biblically, qualify as Luciferian already. The problem is people have practically NO idea what the above means compared to how it translates by the purely secular definition even you yourself probably have in mind.

the original poster who started this thread & calls himself a Christian is one of the most racist, arrogant & ignorant posters on a message board that I've come across in a long while. I honestly think & hope other Christians would be ashamed knowing he was in their side.

IS he really on the side of Christians, let alone Christian himself?
I don't know. You, like me, like him, appear primarily as a collection of words on a computer screen.

Then again, in perfect accordance to what is written above, consider:

13 For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ.

14 And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light.

15 Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works.

... this is just a show ... crappy one by what reviewers are saying ...
It's not going to brainwash children...if you were a parent, you'd have more confidence in your own child & your way of upbringing them.
It's called Faith.

Not Blind Faith.
Just simply Faith.

Esau, please answer for me:

1. Why do commercials typically appear roughly 10 minutes after a show has started, and then after roughly every 10 minute segment of show after that?
Think there might be something significant about that approximate length of time?
2. Why are American corporations willing to spend hundreds of thousands of dollars for less than one single minute of advertising time on TV?
Think they might believe they can influence people's behavior in some way?
But isn't that absolutely ridiculous? What could you possibly convince someone of in one lone minute?
Why do they so foolishly throw their money away like that?
Don't they have anything better to do?

A show like this won't be persuading any children to be evil.

But hey lets all act batshit insane and pretend it could: keep your god damn kids from watching it then. Boom problem solved. The show was never targeted at kids anyways, people can begin whining when they begin to air reruns on Nickelodeon.

@Bluewater...yeah I did a short stint in marketing & advertising so I do understand the ploys & goals they try to achieve.
Funny enough, the firm I worked for had an in-joke philosophy...that advertising wasn't for the consumer, it was to convince the big brands that they "needed" it to attract the customers.
I mean we already know that Coke & MacDonalds exist, we, the consumer don't need to be reminded or enticed by their multi-million dollar commercials & billboards. But from the marketing agency's point of view there's a profit to be made convincing Coke & MacDonalds that they need to be constantly in the spotlight.

Now personally my son isn't influenced by advertising or following the latest trend or wanting expensive clothing because of the brand logo.
He's not like that because simply I'm not either.
I'm the biggest influence in his life. Not the media or the commercials he sees every 10 minutes on TV.

In fact my TV died about 2 months ago. It's only good for DVDs & playing the X-Box, it stopped picking up TV channels for some reason.

It took us both about 2 weeks to get over missing our favourite shows & to adjust our leisure time with other activities.

I don't even watch much TV anymore. Maybe news, that's all.

I also again want to ask people to remember their childhood, remember what tv shows you used to watch? I certainly do and let me tell you: most kids will not have any interest in this tv show. It's not particularly gory, it's not chalk full of spectacular action sequences, and there isn't any nudity.

It's almost a show that is like a lot of those cop shows you have seen on tv, just with a supernatural twist. Or it's like one of those shows where you have someone who is not a cop, but has SOME kind of unique skill set that allows them to help solve crimes. These are not tv shows that a child would be interested in.

Is there stats to show how many children became satanists after watching Buffy, Supernatural, Twilight or Harry Potter?

Harry Potter is another one that people were afraid was going to get kids into "witchcraft". The problem is the reality of witchcraft is very...meh. It's not anything like the world of HP. So if there was a kid who saw it and thought "I want to take up witchcraft" said kid would of been very disappointed about what it actually entails.

It's just like when they thought D&D was going to turn kids into evil devil worshippers.

Notice though these people didn't protest a show actually aimed at kids that contains a lot of dark shit? The 3d Clone Wars cartoon:

YouTube video

Now hmm what do little kids fantasize more about being? Satan who helps out the LAPD or..a jedi? Bah who am I kidding, I know all the time I played that game as a kid. I'd be all "okay I will be Satan, who wants to be the smart, but sassy cop that I help out?". Then you'd have a bunch of kids all competing to get to be the sassy cop I help solve crimes.

Bwahaha it's getting a second season!!!

I bet it's bad.

It's pretty good actually

Yeah, but Touched by an Angel and 7th Heaven were bad too and they lasted f*cking forever.

Also the dad from 7th Heaven turned out to be a child molester.

Is Starsie still posting on herochat?

It's good. Castle meets supernatural kind of show.

Yeah, they said as much at the end of the season finale, which was nice to know.
First season was interesting enough that i'll keep up with the second.

Its funny seeing the mom from the Wimpy Kid movies as the over sexed psychiatrist in this series...

Wasn't the theme of all of those shows/movies to vanquish evil? I would assume they would not turn you into Satanists right?

The answer is yes to everything...except Twilight, that was about just awkward teen romance.

You know, I honestly didn't notice the Twilight movie was included. Yeah, that movie is just weird.

And bad.
