The source material is in the movie, and according to the pretty colors, Ren wasn't stomping Finn.
Okay, well even disregarding the
canon sources that provide evidence for what I'm saying that doesn't contradict the movie one bit, the arguments I made purely based on the movie still stand strong:

He got shot in the gut with a bowcaster. Bowcaster shots are much more powerful than blasterbolts. Chewie's bowcaster was sending stormtroopers flying whenever it shot them. And clearly it did impact Kylo since he was bleeding everywhere. There was a puddle of blood at his feet even after he ventured quite a bit away from where he got shot.
Kylo ragdolled Rey pretty damn easily at the beginning of that fight, so he really could've done the same against Finn whenever he wanted. Plus uninjured he's frozen several people in place before without them being able to move at all.
Also if you actually watch the fight, Kylo has Finn on the ground at one point near the beginning and starts punching himself while he lets Finn get back to his feet rather than finishing him off, and he stomps him pretty quickly as soon as Finn's blade makes contact.
