Originally posted by KazenjiAgreed, but this is the Flash here. Faster that the speed of light. It's kind of what he's known for, hence the name. If he doesn't go the speed of light at some point, he's not living up to the entire point of his powers.
Comics maybebut we're talking about the movies here, They like to change things.
Originally posted by ares834Original Flash being before New52? He definitely did. Barry, Wally, and Bart all ran FTL. They all ran multiple times FTL. I can find scans if you need it
That the entire point of his powers is he can run FTL. Hell the original Flash never reached those speeds.
Or are you talking about Jay Garrick? He came after Barry in real time, and he ran FTL too once he finally established a connection to the speed force (he had his own non-speedforce linked super speed, but they only took him the speed of sound).

No it's just something that happens when he reaches a certain speed. But Supergirl is almost as fast and she doesn't time travel or hop dimensions. So it's a Speed Force related ability.
So, how fast can he go? in the comics, once he reaches light speed, he can travel through time, IIRC.
Originally posted by ares834Holy crap, I didn't know Jays been around that long. First time I ever encountered him was through Barry's stories so I figured they made him specifically for Justice Society and just said he always existed. The more you know
Jay Garrick was around long before Barry. A quick wiki search shows me that Jay was created in 1940 and Barry in 1956.
Still, this movie is focusing on Barry, who definitely moves FTL. Jay did too once he got linked to the speed force so those speeds are reached by all the Flashes.
Originally posted by Zack MI think they said mach 3 on the show, though he has feats to suggest otherwise (for example, he outruns and can react to lightning, which goes 220,000mph whereas mach 3 is 2300mph).

They said Jessie was just under Mach 3, and was running almost as fast as Barry was at that point in training, but we know Flash has gone much faster (and he had no reason to push at his maximum during training, especially while trying to teach Jessie things). Even in S2, he had to hit Mach 3.3 to do that bridge jump thing in the one episode. And then his speed was supposedly multiplied by 4 using the tachyon enhancement, which only made him about as fast as pre-amp Zoom. And their top speeds were both greater than that by the S2 finale. Even ignoring the lightning, if there is any consistency to the show, his top speed should be somewhere between Mach 10 and Mach 20. But the CW guys mostly pull numbers out of their asses, and make him just as fast as the plot requires.
