Ego & Knowhere secret

Yeah, Baby Groot kind of got on my nerves at the beginning and even the part when he was trying to find Yondu's fin was a little too much. Someone should have thrown some Miracle Grow on him after that first scene, and then maybe he could have been more useful...
I've listened to the Awesome Mix Vol. 2 a little bit and there's a couple decent songs on there, but for the most part it's extremely inferior to Vol. 1. Very disappointing. Glen Campbell? Seriously? He sucks.
Just saw it tonight. It had good and bad, imo. The humour worked more than it failed for me, but when it failed it was REALLY noticeable. Pac Man for example.
In general though, I thought it was decent. The highlight for me was Drax for the most part, and his chemistry with the others.
You can tell Gunn has talent, but he needs to stop overdoing it with some of the humour and jamming songs in to scenes when it isn't needed.

The MCU in general should drop that ****ing annoying witty banter routine. I cringed pretty hard at the Beyoncé joke in Doctor Strange, and most scenes in AOU are petty irritating with the wise cracks. Ego also sucked as a villain
They all want to be Whedon. Bendis in the comics was the same.
That said, I liked Ego.

Oh my god, yes. Dr. Strange was awful. The stupid pop culture reference was completely out of place in that movie. That kind of banter makes more sense in Guardians of the Galaxy, but I do agree that they went a little too far with it in Vol. 2, particularly with Drax and Rocket.
It was the little stuff in Vol. 1 that made it so good, like when Rocket complains about the prison not folding his clothes, and when they got drunk and started fighting, it was more relatable and amusing. Vol. 2 didn't have quite the same charm. But maybe it'll work better with repeat viewings... have to wait and see.

Its in every movie. Lol I agree, the jokes are what brings it down. Same, for Iron Man 3.
However, Dr. Strange was definitely a decent movie. Much better than Ant Man.

So what you're saying is that they should have more Beyonce references (or something very similar) in more movies?
Dr. Strange was almost completely cringe-worthy. One of the worst movies I've seen in a while.

Nope. Not a fan of most of MCU's so called jokes. However, that was just a small part of the movie. To me, the movie got better as it progressed. It also had awesome visuals and pretty good acting. I'd give it a B or B-. Ant-Man gets a C-.
^ It's what tone suits each specific movie. GOTG was always a completely fun tone from Day1.
GOTG was based around a really fun tongue in cheek tone, which was best for a film starring a raccoon and a walking tree.
Ant-Man suited a fun tone since it was about a superhero whose power is to shrink himself.
Dr. Strange had the odd joke. But was mostly more serious than the other 2. Any film can us the odd joke. It's something BvS was seriously lacking.
The Captain America films have all had a pretty serious tone (with the odd joke) which suited them.
Iron Man 3's tone was off. It went from a previously "fun" franchise to a completely tongue in cheek tone. That didn't work at all for me.
