Power level vs Fear

Power level vs Fear

What "hero" has the most quotes when it comes to "Oh sh** he's here" due to fear of power level. This isn't a "who is the most powerful character discussion". Post scenes of powerful beings being afraid of another powerful hero showing up or of one who has shown up that put fear in hearts.

Hulk.

Everyone sees him, and despite his history, sees him as yet another monster, like a giant super strong angry child.

Does anyone have any examples.

We just posted three doom, sentry and gr

For Doom it's probably more like "oh shit he's here! how long until he is defeated this time?"

Also Doom isn't really a hero. Nor is Hulk and Sentry..I guess sometimes he is.

But anyways, I will mention Superman. I like the part in the JLU cartoon where Captain Atom confronts Superman and Supes tells him to step aside and he says no. Then Huntress is all "um SUPERMAN just told you to step the f*ck aside".

I guess not exactly fear. Though from the JL cartoon the look on Kalibak's face is priceless when he realizes Batman wasn't trying to fight him and was just stalling until Superman got there. To which then Superman one shots him.

Though of course the best example of this with Superman is when he confronts "The Elite" and has people thinking he has turned evil and murdered everyone. Pretty much everyone(not just the villains) collectively shits their pants at that point.

It's pretty telling that Superman can come off as more frightening then legit villains.

On this note, I have always loved this scene from Kingdom Come:

Just shows you the type of respect Superman gets... Even from other heroes. 👆

Always loved Ross artwork.

On a side note, i haven't heard anything about him in awhile, is he retired?

No, he's still very active. He did most of the cover art for Secret Wars, and does a lot of work for Dynamite Comics(among others.)

I really dont see that with superman unless he's about to cut loose as with the elite scenerio.

Watcher would be a character who people shit their pants when he shows up. Not so much for him but for whats about to happen

Yeah but technically that's not a fear of his power levels.

Though if we are counting villains then Plutonian probably deserves a mention.

Heroes dont generally "strike fear" unless we are talking about like batman or something. I mean superman flies thru metropolis pulling cats out of trees daily. It shouldn't be a big deal...hes not a killer. Now a hero who kills? Those are the ones people fear

Oh shit, he is here? Punisher!

Punisher for sure.
