I'm all for Originality, But considering the story that they're going with for Rogue One of course the Death Star will make a ****en appearance.

Something more interesting. It's a vast sci-fi universe with infinite possibilities.

Why go in that direction?.....when its about stealing the plans for the Death Star.

He is saying they shouldn't have made a film centered around this idea. How don't you understand what he's saying ?

I understand what he's saying

but i find it stupid for them not use the Death Star around a story such as this.

I'm still not really feeling this. Star Wars is such a massive property, with so much lore. why keep retreading the Lucas years?

I think Rogue One's actually an interesting idea.

Doing something Original doesn't mean you can't use familiar settings and tie up to older stories.

All subjective, chump.

This film is going to be awesome. Way more excited for it than ep7 and that was massive levels of excitement considering it was the first new SW flick in a decade and under new leadership.

yawn

sure rogue one will be much better that TFA but disney should have gone into uncharted waters by now. they are about to be two SW movies in and they still haven't gone anywhere outside of the lucas universe and stories. the SW universe is massive, bring on new stories and new characters, expand. get on with it already.

Nope! Gotta have that nostalgia! It's gonna be great, gonna make us all warm and fuzzy inside.

I get what you're saying. But the goodwill of the franchise is in what Lucas created.

You can make new stories in different eras involving ALL new characters, but it still has to clearly be STAR WARS. Otherwise you might as well just make any new random fantasy flick in space.

That said the spin off films are a good medium to try different things while the Saga films continue the Skywalker story into new eras.

I agree to a certain extent, but what you're saying is basically the mindset Hollywood has a whole, they're not willing to take any risk, or try anything new. How great would it be if they made something smack in the middle of the golden age of the Jedi? I suppose that would be a conversation for another day though.

Be that as it may, I do genuinely hope this is a great Star Wars movie, I was pretty disappointed in TFA, I'm just not holding out a lot of hope, since it seems to be retreading a lot of the problems I had with TFA.

Unlike with TFA, At least Rogue One isn't remaking a previously made movie.

It is just going back to its Lucas Roots and BORROWING tropes from other movie genres.....BUT IN A LOVING WAY!!!!!

And Star Wars didn't when it was initially thought up....... 😬

I said they were returning to their LUCAS Roots.

Pay attention there Kazzy.
