He ultimately trains her anyway and leaves everything up to the Force. He makes this decision in a scene where he confers with the ghosts of Obi-Wan and Yoda (Ewan MacGregor and Frank Oz come back).
Rey learns lightsaber skills, Force skills, and has a vision quest thing where she talks with Maz Kanata (unsure if it’s telepathy or just a dream) and Hayden Christenson. The latter tells her that she is him, but different, and there’s a quick scene where we see hundreds of other Force ghosts who are implied to be past chosen ones.

I'm really sick of prequels. They need to start a Star Wars tv show that spans the entire universe so we don't have to go to the cinema to see some shit that already happened. They could save so much money this way. Sign a deal with Netflix or fx. That Han Solo movie may actually work in a show format but in a universe where his character is now dead is pointless. The only reason I'll be seeing this is for the hope of seeing some cool dog fights and Vader murdering rebels

Don't have an issue with reshoots, as long as the final product is awesome.
Do hope they're not reshooting because someone said "it's too dark" and they end up ruining the film by trying to force it into something it was never intended to be from the start.
