Yes he's in it, but clearly a supporting role and not a full out "Spider-Man/Iron Man" duo movie. Clearly larger than a cameo though.

Also posters are a big part of the marketing. Don't underestimate the number of people who will only realise there's a new Spider-Man movie out from the posters.

I'm going to wait for actual critical reviews to come in on RT. DC & Warners pulled the same trick last year with Suicide Squad, releasing 'legitimate' preview audience buzz about how it was great and this should have been the first movie to start the DCEU, and it was all proven to be bull as the avalanche of bad reviews poured in.

Please don't fall for the standard WB meme.

There have been like 20 or so critics that have seen it already. No negative reaction thus far. The difference with Suicide Squad, is that WB played it in front of fans, not critics.

Some of the RT critics are mentioned on ScreenJunkies

Right on.

Always relying on RT... 🙄

And why should a "critics" view on how good a movie is make any difference?

Folks can't form their own opinion's these days, They have to rely on a site such as RT to form their own.

Oh right... I forgot.

I go see and enjoy films condemned by critics on RT, but I don't make any major defence beyond saying I'm a fan and it was a guilty pleasure(re. most Transformers movies.) I disagree with individual critics, but a movie's overall rating on RT has proven to be an accurate barometer of quality.

Not sure if it's a good sign but The Daily Telegraph was giving away Free Double Passes last week.

Oh jeez:

Seriously what have WB always been so scared of with a WW film? It's taken them this long to put one out (which they only had the guts that do after first introducing her in BvS), and they spend like half of what they spent on Suicide Squad on its budget and marketing, and now they're still scared to properly merchandise the property.

Ironic thing is it's going to end being by far the best DCEU film and due to their cheapness on this, by far the most profitable. Then we'll see WB go crazy with multiple high budget sequels and tons of merchandise everywhere.

Bit soapboxy tbh, but at the same time, are kids really gonna want Wonder Woman merch the way they want merch from GOTG (which, even if it sucked, is still FAR more marketable to kids), Batman and Superman.

You can't market Diana the same way you can them, at least in some ways.

^ I dunno, if they give it a try they might find out there is a market there for female superhero toys.

There is. I just don't see it being as big as the market for Batman, for example. DC is already pushing out tons of female hero merch as it is, even outside of WW.

supposedly the toys for WW have been selling really well.

That doesn't surprise me one bit.
