That's nonsense. I gave you a ton of names. It's not hard. Emily Blunt, Jennifer Lawrence. Heck Emilia Clark.
Judging by the positive reviews so far, I think part of the success was having a new-comer play WW & not a well known actress.
Reviewers would take the focus away from WW by comparing JL & EC to their previous roles that they're already famous for.
TBH, I usually agree with Darth Thor on a lot of things, but this? Nope.
Gadot, like Cavill and Momoa, was a relative unknown when she was cast. Comparing her to Megan Fox is laughable imo, as Megan Fox is never going to be considered for carrying a huge blockbuster movie by herself. Like Cavill and Momoa, all she really had was some tv experience, and some movies in which none of them really shined before they were cast in these roles.
Lastly, yes, physicality matters when it comes to Wonder Woman. She has to look tough and yet beautiful at the same time. It IS a part of her character, and from what I've seen in trailers AND in BvS, she has a decent look to her.
Is she a perfect choice? No, but I would name people like Emilia Clarke and Jennifer Lawrence as being potentially worse ones than Gadot. And considering the very high likelihood that Wonder Woman is going to be considered the best part of the DCEU going forward, some part of that HAS to be down to Gadot, I imagine.

How can anyone not like Angel?Few shows in the early 2000's and now can match its cast, storytelling, plot and overall tone.
👆 it's an amazing show.
Originally posted by Esau CairnCasting so closely to appearance in lieu of acting chops does a disservice to Wonder Woman. Little girls aren't looking for sexualized cover art come to life, they're looking for a model of female heroism they can get behind and call their own. Yes the role needs certain physical requirements but casting Gal Godot was clearly the idea of a man, I'm assuming Zack Snyder.
Sexist? She wasn't actually drawn double chinned & frumpy in the comics, was she?
You'd have a better argument if she was.
Imagine if Tim Burton had cast some good looking Calvin Klein model with a square jaw instead of Michael Keaton as Batman.
Casting Gadot might've been Snyder's choice but the decision to hire Patty Jenkins as a director IMO proves they had more faith in a storyline than a pretty face to put on screen.
Big gamble for DC considering she hadn't directed anything in 14 years (her last being Monster in 2003).
And Burton cast Keaton because of their previous work on Beetlejuice.

Not to mention that when Keaton was cast, most people wondered why a comedy actor was being given such a serious role... And he killed it.

I'm probably wrong Lol

It's not about being famous. It's about how good an actor they were before getting the role. Henry Caville almost got the role years earlier for Superman Returns. HC did well in Immortals. Whereas Gal played the model gf in Date Night.
Well funny you should say, because there's been rumours on Dc movie news that Momoa's acting is the main worry for Aquaman.
Really don't think the Megan Fox comparison is laughable. Think that's basically what's happened here tbh.
As for the looks I think that can be worked around more easily than a lack of talent. People can die their hair, get into shape e.t.c.

Yeah I'm probably wrong on this. Which is a good thing Lol
I said from my first day of complaining about her that I'd be glad to be wrong.

That's not really relevant to my worries, because Keaton was already a damn good actor.
I didn't go all crazy when Jesse Eisenberg was cast as Lex because I was like "hey he's a good actor let's see what he does"..
But yeah.. the less said about Lex the better.
Anyway I've been hearing more reviews about Gal killing it, so I must be wrong.

As long as you're able to admit that, that's all that matters. biscuits
