Perhaps it was what White Rabbit said all along: legal matters preventing Neo to appear but since Neo obviously is advertised as being involved in the storyline of the game, the idea that his likeness being used as a playable character in the game affects the legal situation no differently. Therefore, I don't understand why he wouldn't be in the game.
Ultimately, I think Shiny and the Wachowski brothers made a huge mistake by not including the franchises' most popular characters in the game. The Wachowski's were intimately involved in the creation of the game because they too are avid video game players. Anyone who has played game based on a movie has to know that it is the natural desire of it's fans to *be* the heros. That is the point of actions movies to a great degree. To give the audience (generally young males) that confident stride as they leave the theater, imagining themselves as the protagonists, in this case Neo, Morpheus, or even Trinity. If what Shiny said is true, then I believe that the ginormous mistake committed here is theirs.
I must admit, though, I still find some of these people's claims compelling. Ultimately, though, I hope they come out with a future version of the game that openly includes the movies' stars. Ghost and Niobe are cool, but in the end, who in the world are Ghost and Niobe?
Ladies and Gentlemen...do not forget what Shiny President said on the official "enter the matrix" website. He is quoted saying, "The Brothers had us hide stuff in the game...you might find it all if you look really hard, and if you do you'll be very happy." I can't believe that Neo is not in the game. If the Wachowski Brothers were really avid video game players, then they know what it is like to unlock the cheats in a game. I don't believe it. He's in there.
Denial .... all humans do that right ???
But hope never dies !!!! even the machines agree .....
But the easy explanations is always the right one ....
There is no Neo, but I believe, at least a few people will persists at this quest ...
Cya guys !! good luck for those who will keep the fight ....
One more time, sorry for the "indian" english ....
I will keep following this forum, because I believe in something ..... persistant people are good and necessary to get the goal, objective, wherever you like to call .... but realistic persons are important to !!
Right Ushgarak ???
ughhhhhhh! I find it incredible some people still think it is possible to play neo on the console. I remember reading an article in pc gamer way way back when enter the matrix was just past being a rumor. The brothers were quoted saying they did not want Neo to be a playable character.
but if some of you guys want it that bad find someone with a dvd burner and change the skins yourself.
It's so tempting to believe that Neo is available just as some easter egg buried really, really deeply in the game, and that they told people like David Perry not to let anyone know about it, endeavoring to restrict knowledge to only the best. However that would be a lot of work on their part to do the moves and the flying system and the bullet stopping effects for only a few people to see, but from what I know of the Wachowskies (which is not very much and does not include how to spell their name) they seem like the type to do something like that.
Anyway, I have the PC version and I hear all this talk of being able to play with the Neo skin...I have played the game with Seraph in place of Niobe, but any attempt to use the Neo skin directly (in place of Niobe or Ghost) or indirectly (in place of an adversary like Cujo or Trinity) results in a crash. The only thing that worked was replacing the Keymaker with Neo's skin so the Keymaker looked like Neo.
One more thing, I couldn't get the changing characters through doing the minigames in Spark's Training Construct to work. Has anyone successfully cycled through Niobe, white Ghost, Niobe, and black Ghost on the PC?
"Shiny Entertainment have confirmed that you CANNOT unlock Neo"
Well thats quite reinsuring to think Shiny of all people would release a statement to the Internet about Neo & all, considering he has been programed into the game in Multiplayer Mode by Atari.
As for the training construct, is there a scenerio 3? Why when you fall into the pit for the fourth time, the game displays 'Loading' instead of "loading scenerio 2"? nothing more than glitches?
So ye can give up hope right now or see if Gameshark can hack their own code for a playable GHOST-LIKE Neo in story mode.
1 reason for the glitch in the training construct being false - Too Many Weapons on the screen & the game will Glitch, but not into Neo, it will freeze the game & you will have to reset.
Agent training HUH???????
Its been noted 2 possible theory's to get there:
1. Go to the door underneath the caged hand to hand combat mini-game.
2. Believe there is a Neo glitch & fly your way up to the top balcony door.
3. What 3, yes.. Have you noticed that the swat enimies in the game appear out of no-where or thin-air in the mini-games, so exclude that idea.
On a positive note you can access Neo in the Multiplayer - Mode. + I don't think Shiny + Atari are telling you everything about the games secrets. & You can always look around for Gameshark/Pro Action Replay Codes. I don't think Neo has his own abilities in the game, just GHOSTS. Happy Hacking Everyone!
I hope the implication is not that Shiny's statement is deceitful. They were answering the question of whether Neo can be unlocked as a bonus character, their answer was no. Multiplayer duelling was not really under question.
Any file messing around to overlay Neo on Ghost is just that- playing Ghost but with the Neo graphic instead, which as the guy from Shiny said does not look good.
