Cant remember who it was i was arguing with. Might've been ghostman or riv or someone but anyway we were discussing Charles. My argument was that i didnt like how they made Charles a dick. That when i was growing up he was a fatherly figure. Ghostman, riv or whoever i was arguing with said he was always a douchebag who made bad decisions concerning the team. Anywho found this little gem from back in the 80s.
So the details are a little scant in this issue as far as the whys and whens, but basically many years ago Professor X accidentally impregnated one of his patients, and the woman was so untrusting of her feelings for Professor X because of his ability to manipulate minds that she left him to raise the child on her own. But then the child was autistic and when his own mental powers manifested during puberty he started becoming destructive. The mother sought out Moira Mactaggert for help, and because the problem dealt with dysfunctional telepathic powers, Moira in turn called Charles and the whole family is reunited. Legion is pretty god damn detached and creepy, but that makes sense because his father is the type of guy that will have sex with his patients apparently. Yeesh. Seriously, Charles.
