Well, I was mainly just addressing the heat thing. Some people seem to think that the Extremis guys damaging Tony's prototype suits means all his suits are automatically vulnerable to any kind of heat based attacks, when screen evidence suggests otherwise. It's more a combo of very extreme levels of highly focused heat, backed by clear superhuman strength, that can do damage. But we have no idea how the Sentinels/Sunspot compare to the Extremis guys.

They are much better in Civil War, but you gave the Sentinel pretty much any power they showed onscreen, which is nothing to scoff at. As others have pointed out, Iron Man himself would have some issues here. Also, some powersets are better suited to counter certain opponents over others.

Actually, in the battle of New York from Avengers 1, Cap and Iron Man did an attack where Tony shot his beams at the shield, which Steve then used to reflect away hitting a bunch of Chitauri (Steve also did the same reflecting trick in Cap 2, using bullets).
