Chris Matthews caught off mic being Misogynist about Meliania.

I wonder if he will keep his job since he's on the most liberal politically correct network and where they champion women rights.

He joins the ever growing list of news anchors on MSNBC bias hypocrite media enterprise.

https://www.yahoo.com/amphtml/finance/news/msnbc-chris-matthews-hot-water-170509216.html

I was honestly expecting something more scandalous than commenting on her "runway walk". Sure he objectified her, but he also commenting on a former profession(?) of hers, as "runway walk" is what some models do.

If he loses his job, I won't lose sleep over it. But it does seem like a mostly nothing being blown out.

ps Welcome back TI

Thanks, Rob he has a long history of this, he called Hilary Clinton Nurae Ratchet, and said she barks like a dog.

http://variety.com/2016/tv/news/chris-matthews-sexist-melanie-donald-trump-msnbc-1201766549/rks like a dog.

First off I'm confused. He essentially just said the woman was attractive. He didn't say something like "all she's good for is looking good" or anything like that. He didn't imply she was just some beautiful, but ditzy lady. It's sexist to make a comment to someone else that you think a female looks good?

Then also this from the article: “Smile. You just had a big night,” Joe Scarborough tweeted at Hillary Clinton, igniting a wave of criticism."

Um, what? Someone told Hilary to smile and it's sexist?

What is said in the recording that the article left out? This is what it says he said:

“Did you see her walk?” said Matthews. “Runway walk. My God is that good. I could watch that runway show.”

Are you saying he said more then just that on this recording? Since I don't see the big deal unless there is some incredibly sexist shit that the article just left out for some reason.

Also look at this, this is what a spokesperson said for Melania:

"It is unfortunate to see the continuous inaccuracies and misrepresentations made by the media of Mrs. Trump as anything less than the independently successful woman that she is.”

Could someone please inform me what inaccuracies were made? What specifically about this woman was misrepresented?

Unless there is more that this man said then it almost sounds like people are essentially pissed off because he called a woman attractive without mentioning she was a successful businesswoman. People are reacting as if he said "Did you see her walk? She should walk herself right back into the kitchen".

I'm getting real tired of this PC bullshit. Now the libtards are attacking each other over politically correct bullshit.

Maybe all the people who lose their shit over politically correct perfection will have a war and kill each other. Maybe they will get so pissed at each other that they will kill themselves because they are just so offended.

By the way, what I just said, above, wasn't politically correct.

It really is getting out of hand and it's beginning to ruin this country. Just in the last year alone how much time have we as a country wasted talking about PC bullshit? Whether it's college kids whining over safe spaces or the fact in some places men are being asked to use the men's bathroom..there are legit problems in this country. Problems that effect a majority of our citizens as opposed to affecting something like 1% of our citizens.

Milo Yiannopoulos is going around currently from one campus to another showing us just how out of touch with reality some of these people are. It's both entertaining and deeply depressing to see our youth basically making our country look foolish. This reflects on all of us, WE let this evil come into existence. We started the fire and now we need to put it out before it's too late.

And I'm getting tired of people who act like political correctness is some kind of plague on humanity.

Lots of people whine about how political correctness is whining, which is just ironic as hell.

Get over it already. Pretty much all my friends are what you would consider "PC" and I never have any problems with them because I use common sense with what I say and do. Idiots who say stupid things may not deserve public witchhunts which often happens (and this is where I'll agree that PCness can be easily taken too far), but they're still idiots, and with just a modicum of tact and forethought they could avoid offending anyone.*

*And here, you may argue that there are some who get offended by just about anything, and you might be right about that, but they're actually not a significant enough part of the population to worry about them.

Edit: Oh, and DDD, I hope this doesn't come off as too combative. I'm not really directing this at you necessarily (though it may seem that way), it's just lately I'm sick of all the QQing about PCness when most of the time it seems to me that political correctness simply means considering how other people might react to what you say before you say it, which to me should just be a matter of course.

"Good god, shutup. No body ****ing cares that you're gay and oppressed. Stop talking about it at work so damn much."

I guess that's whining? I'd rather just get back to work and not have to hear another story about how tough it is to be flamboyantly in-your-face gay.

This is just one example.

Here's another: "I'm a woman and I'm oppressed at work because Bill and Joe called each other bitches when they were joking with each other and I just so happened to walk past their desk and here it. Boo hooo."

Ugh...it hurts so much to! Ahhhh...who cares, lady? Why not join in with Bill and Joe by saying, "You both are bitches because you'd rather joke than actually work like I am. So long, assholes! WEEEE!!!!" And do you think Bill and Joe would say anything? Maybe they'd even laugh and think she worked harder than they did...even if she actually doesn't.

One of my favorite lines at work was from a woman to a man who was being sexist. She said, "I"ve got bigger balls than you do, calm down, you p*ssy." 😆

That line worked quite well. Put him in his place. Yes, fire does fight fire. That's a stupid saying because it is not like using fire, at all. He brought a little fire stick and she brought an endothermic bomb.

Now, saying stuff like, "Wow, all black people are dumb criminals!" or "All gays are disgusting pedophiles". Yeah, that stuff should go right up their ass next to their bible, self-righteousness, cross-shapped-buttplug, and their head.

That's why they are your friends and not mine: you like to be PC, I don't. Maybe I want to jokingly call someone a b*tch? Maybe I want to make a racist joke? Maybe I want to make fun of a religion? Maybe I want to make a sexist joke?

Doesn't mean I believe any of those things. Some of the most fun in conversations I've had at work were from, say, black people making racist jokes or woman making sexist jokes. Oh, and one of my favorite things was when my two gay coworkers would argue (not seriously) and they'd call each other fagg*t. We could never get too angry at work because everyone kept it fun.

Here's a situation that pissed me off at work. I used to work for DirecTV, back in the day. We had a training course and we got to choose movies for an object game. Our group chose Kung Pow: Enter the Fist. I said I was from the large dark nipple tribe (I don't have large dark nipples. Just tiny light brown ones.) Guess what? The only black woman in the room lost her shit and called it racist. She was soooooo concerned about everything being politically correct that she not only ruined the object lesson, she made everyone nervous about saying anything at all. Here we are, all adults, getting to chose any movie we want for our team (including rated R movies), and porn is just a click away on any of the TVs in the next room (when you work for DirecTV corporate, some of the receivers are completely unlocked which includes the fapping or jilling channels).

Obviously, she was just looking for trouble. And boy was she annoying. My young self didn't even know what was going on, at the time. I could not figure out why she was upset until someone explained it to me. And she didn't get upset at all about the group who chose reservoir dogs and acted out part of the torture scene. Not at all. Nope. She laser focused on the large dark nipple tribe.

Clearly, only fat black women have large dark nipples and it is racist to even utter that phrase.

I don't agree. People who say things, un-seriously, or jokingly, don't deserve a witch hunt. Truly racist, sexist, etc. people should be shamed. But no witch hunts for saying very benign things intended as humor. But where do you draw the line when someone says something that proves they are sexist/racist/etc.? Don't know. We should be less apt to do a witch hunt and only go after the obvious ones.

Chris Matthews? In any casual conversation, what he said would be a compliment. "Holy shit, she can walk just like a pro." Ohh ho ho, but in the politically correct world, you had better not say someone looks good or can walk like a model, especially if they are female. That's just sexist and objectifies them! Get the pitchforks! His job is gone! Weee!

Former friend of mine had a hissy fit over Shang Chi being racist. I went at him about pretty much what you said, and he admitted he makes non pc jokes all the time. The difference is, he thinks "they" really think all asians know kung fu..

The whole PC thing is just a bullshit silencing tactic. Women, gays and what not love offensive humor, as long as they have a monopoly on it. "Punching up", I think they call it.

I'd land on that runway.

Good Sir, in a span of one day I again feel compelled to congratulate you on a post so full of win 👆

As Ben Shapiro says, PC langauge was really first used by Mao, as a way to forcefully deter anyone to express ideas that were not in line with the party politics. Hence politically correct language.

On a joky joke side, to quote Steven Crowder,

PC language dictators "are not fighting for free speech, not fighting for rights, [they're] fghting for a right to be a pussy and not hear opinions that [they] don't like."

Trigger warning 😛

Oh please, do your friends get upset over utterly stupid bullshit like in the article in this thread? There are varying degree's of PC. If your friends get pissed off over this kind of stuff then that's pretty sad IMO. Did you even read what the people in the article are upset about?

If my friend heard what the people in this article said and then began to whine about how sexist it was I'd plainly tell him to shut the f*ck up.

Stop acting like this is low level shit, this wasn't someone calling a native american an "indian" or something. This is political correctness to the extreme, 90's style.

I mean you even talk about PC being just considering how others might react, but hell the one guy said shit when he didn't even realize his microphone was on. Is it to the point where at every waking hour we have to be on our guard so the PC police don't get upset? People can't even say shit in their own homes now because if some dipshit decides to record them they can get in trouble for saying shit in the confines of their *own home*.

So no, I don't think it's an overreaction to say this shit is getting out of hand, because it is. It doesn't need to be a significant amount of the population because the PC crowd are so damn loud they don't need a lot of people, surely you realize this?

He owned every single liberal on the earth.

I legitimately feel those videos should be put on monitors installed in the hallways of every single college in this country. We basically need to expose these college kids to it until they either change their ways or just self destruct..sort of like when a robot overloads because you present it with a logic it isn't prepared to handle.

No, I'm getting tired of people acting like political correctness is an unholy burden. It doesn't really take much effort to avoid offending reasonable people, and most of the time when I see someone complaining about PCness it's because they said something that's just blatantly offensive and they couldn't be bothered to think before they said it.

"Good god, shutup. No body ****ing cares that you're gay and oppressed. Stop talking about it at work so damn much."

I guess that's whining? I'd rather just get back to work and not have to hear another story about how tough it is to be flamboyantly in-your-face gay.

That example is more than whining, it's an attempt to silence someone because the speaker can't be bothered to give a shit about someone else/show some empathy. I.E. the speaker is an unsympathetic *******. And here I'm using the phrase "the speaker" because I know you're better than that.

Here's another: "I'm a woman and I'm oppressed at work because Bill and Joe called each other bitches when they were joking with each other and I just so happened to walk past their desk and here it. Boo hooo."

I'm not far from you on this particular example. I do think there's a tendency to decontextualize gender-based insults and take offense where it isn't intended. That said, I do think we should as a society get away from language that suggests a double standard for genders. But that's not a change you can force on people, it's a change that should come over time with greater understanding of the implications of certain words.

One of my favorite lines at work was from a woman to a man who was being sexist. She said, "I"ve got bigger balls than you do, calm down, you p*ssy." 😆

We're agreed on this too.

That's why they are your friends and not mine: you like to be PC, I don't. Maybe I want to jokingly call someone a b*tch? Maybe I want to make a racist joke? Maybe I want to make fun of a religion? Maybe I want to make a sexist joke?

It's not about "liking" PCness. That's what you need to understand. I actually hate the phrase "political correctness" because I think it twists the actual meaning of the concept into something onerous when it should be a simple virtue.

I follow Neil Gaiman's idea of "PC" which is as follows: "I was reading a book (about interjections, oddly enough) yesterday which included the phrase “In these days of political correctness…” talking about no longer making jokes that denigrated people for their culture or for the colour of their skin. And I thought, “That’s not actually anything to do with ‘political correctness’. That’s just treating other people with respect.”

Which made me oddly happy. I started imagining a world in which we replaced the phrase “politically correct” wherever we could with “treating other people with respect”, and it made me smile.

You should try it. It’s peculiarly enlightening.

I know what you’re thinking now. You’re thinking “Oh my god, that’s treating other people with respect gone mad!”"

Here's a situation that pissed me off at work. I used to work for DirecTV, back in the day. We had a training course and we got to choose movies for an object game. Getting annoyed is the wrong response to that sort of situation. Here's what you should do when someone accuses you of being racist: 1) honestly consider through their eyes how they might construe it as racist. 2) if after honestly putting yourself in their shoes you still don't see what was racist, just move on, or apologize if you see there is something potentially wrong with what you did. Here's the thing about being racist/sexist/homophobic/transphobic/etc: intention doesn't really matter. That sounds ridiculous because our society values intentions, but from the other person's perspective they can't always understand if you meant it as a benign joke, because often malign jokes meant to hurt them are disguised as such.

People who are used to abuse, erasure, and disparagement notice things you never will because they've been conditioned to pick up on them. In the case of trans people, it's often a necessity for survival much as it was for black people in the days of lynching, only it's often sexual assault they face rather than murder as in the lynching case. You're not a bad person, and I'm not trying to imply that you are, I'm just asking you to consider being a little more aware of how

I don't agree. People who say things, un-seriously, or jokingly, don't deserve a witch hunt. Truly racist, sexist, etc. people should be shamed. Not really concerned with Chris Mathews, although that is the subject of the thread. I don't actually think he said anything too terrible (it is sexist and objectifying, but I think there are bigger fish to fry than Mathews).

But this small minority is very loud and certainly ruins a lot of shit for everyone else. They get people fired, ruin careers, harass (but it is righteous harassment), and so forth.

I usually don't agree with people getting fired for saying something offensive unless it's outright hate speech or goes against the very principles the company aspires to. Usually though, when someone says something that riles up a lot of people (and it's not a small minority either who get pissed off at things like the Duck Dynasty thing, just for an example, a good portion of the country was disgusted).

Oh no, I took it as combative. That's why I got my bo-staff out and my hacking computer out. Girls like guys with skills. Only sissies don't have skills.

Yeah, you're right. It was combative. But look, I just punched through your face. Also I have wizard armor so you can't attack back.

Stupid no-edit glitch, that incomplete sentence is driving me nuts.
