Just look up: Jimmy Savile, then when you know who he is look up
Jimmy Savile links too royal family and Prime Minister Maggie Thatcher
Then look up Prime Minister Ted Heath
Then look up death of Doctor David Kelly
Then look up death of Gareth Williams GCHQ
Then look up how MI5 and the Police concealed MP Cyril Smith's paedophillia
just the tip of the iceberg kid.

Never said we're perfect, just said the UK is an awesome Duff to have.
Designated Ugly Fat Friend. Who needn't be ugly or fat.

Alabama and the GOP, on the other hand, have rallied around Roy Moore after the allegations.

The pedophilia accusations against Moore are not concealed, yet the disgusting GOP elite in America are tripping over themselves to re-endorse him. And this is happening today and totally out in the open. You realise the false equivalence here?
just the tip of the iceberg kid.A very irrelevant iceberg, presumably. None of what you have posted so far is on par with the Moore stupidity, in which a large segment of a US state are flocking to an accused pedophile. In the UK, a government minister got in trouble for having porn on his computer and another resigned (Michael Fallon, I believe) almost immediately after some sexual harassment claims came out.
The question to ask yourself is this: Do you think that an accused pedophile who believes marriage equality is worse than slavery could be elected to any EU nation? The answer is: Of course not. The equivocation between gay marriage and slavery would be disqualifying in all but the most backward Euro countries from the get go. The pedophile accusations would just be another nail in the coffin .
Look, I won't deny that there's hideously stupid shit going on in the EU/UK, but none of it is on par with what is happening in that special election.
Originally posted by SurturWell, I wouldn't say the EU or UK are perfect either. Far from it. In my opinion, the whole Western World is a bit of a shitshow right now. America just seems worse given Trump and Moore.

Your country just lacks any moral high ground. I'm talking about those cliche british twatts that look down upon America. Would you happen to be one of those?
The same people who call Americans fat and ignore stats like this(and no, this isn't defending the fat people we have here):
In 2014 62% of adults in England were classified as overweight (a body mass index of 25 or above) or obese, compared to 53% 20 years earlier. More than two-thirds of men and almost six in 10 women are overweight or obese.
Fat folk in glass houses shouldn't throw stones.

Clearly a country that allows a man with a special branch file to have access to the head of state and Prime Minister protects paedophiles in Office, murders to cover up murders and prevents disclosure of most of these things which would be disclosed in the states is better! 👆 Yeah, clearly allowing the people to vote for a paedo is better than leaving a paedo in Office to Paedo like Cyril Smith and preventing his prosecution... Hang on!

Trump didn't come out of nowhere, there was a reason why he was necessary lol. It was a rejection of a lot of things that needed rejecting.
Probably why your Brexit happened too, or at least one reason why.
Originally posted by SurturNah, I'm not one of those guys. I'm just pointing out that what's happening right now in Alabama isn't on par withe even the worst shit in EU/UK politics. That doesn't negate the ways in which America is undoubtedly a great country, or the ways that EU/UK politics are a shitshow as well. Just pointing that the shittiness of their politics is not comparable a right now.

The same people who call Americans fat and ignore stats like this(and no, this isn't defending the fat people we have here):Total strawman. Never brought up the 'Americans=fat' stereotypes once. Indeed, pretty much all developed countries are suffering the obesity epidemic to some degree, so it'd be pointless to bring up anyway. In 2014 62% of adults in England were classified as overweight (a body mass index of 25 or above) or obese, compared to 53% 20 years earlier. More than two-thirds of men and almost six in 10 women are overweight or obese.
Fat folk in glass houses shouldn't throw stones. [/B]I'd agree if I had actually brought up the Americans=fat stereotype. But I was making a comment regarding the state of politics in both places, which has nothing to do with weight.
Originally posted by SurturI respect that you conceded on this point upfront. No hard feelings.
You are correct I shouldn't have brought up the obese thing, you didn't bring it up. It is something I do see though from people, the "Fat American" trope.
And yes, the American fat trope doesn't make sense as obesity plagues many other developed nations as well. I suppose it's one of those lazy criticisms.
And given the things Steven mentioned, I dunno...I don't think the Moore puts them below the UK IMO. [/B]Well, I agree those things are ****ed up too. I just don't think they are all that relevant to the current state of politics.
But whatever, country shit slinging contests never come to anything and almost always turn bitter. And I don't want to veer too far off topic either.
America is certainly worse then we are at the moment. At least we don't have literal ****ing Nazi marches over here.
But Britain (and it is mostly Britain) undoubtedly has its major problems. I think the Brexit situation of the whole has exposed a raw nerve of entitlement, xenophobia and delusions of grandeur that has long festered in the British publics heart, the fundamental incompetence and selfish power-lust of our politicians and leaders and the utter failure of our media platforms to unbiasedly inform us. The UK has a lot of reform needed and unfortunately those in charge currently utterly lack the merit to see to that.

I also think our all-pervasive surveillance state allows a level of control by the state on the populace unheard of in the west.
I also think we are or at least our leaders are far less likely to be caught due to MI5, GCHQ and Special Branch collusion and deflection. We are rotten to the core.
The riots of 6-7 years ago show this clearly, where the Police did little to protect or serve but picked rioters up through ccTV footage in the weeks following.
