Was kind of surprised Cm didn't do as well in America vs wonder woman. CM did about 35/65 % in America where wonder woman did 49/51%. It's harder to get the numbers up in America.
Wonder Woman got there first. Plus was critically better received.
Still Wonder Woman struggled internationally which people were blaming on sexism lol. Clearly thats not the case given the international and worldwide success of Captain Marvel.

Also there was the large social media presence from Brie Larson. That probably worked better drawing attention to the film than its lame trailers amd tv spots did IMO.
It should have.
Watched this. It's bad.
Shape-shifting is a bad sci-fi cliche and it was 90% of the plot. And there was bad editing decisions all over the place. I love Nirvana, but that was the worst song use ever, No Doubt's "Just a Girl" was cringe-worthy. And even besides that the ending just came across as lame girl-power pandering without any real story justification. She's just super powerful like Superman just because.
This is one of the worst Marvel movies. What a shame.
That being said, the story behind Fury's eye was amusing.

Yeah, that's my take, as well.
The disjointed timeline also hurt. Didn't Hollywood learn anything from Alexander? You just don't do it...

Yeah, for me it was mostly meh with some cringe moments thrown in for good measure.
Still...it made a lot of money and will most likely get a sequel. Which isn't necessarily bad since there is potential to tell some cool stories with the character.
