mmm

Has the current wave of game engines just made it impossible to make good looking human women, or do Western developers just no longer want to?

Who knows, but Netherrealm to its credit has at least made progress on that end since its first games. Still kind of an annoyance though, yeah.

Imo the current face models are way better then before....

Disappointed with the roster not including John Constantine - how cool would that have been?

Need some more Justice League Dark Representation

The roster is shit so not a surprise sadly.

Guys there is like 20 characters left....ermm
+ 9 dlc ones...

I like him....too bad the dude plays like a tard...

Green Arrow... And oh hey, Reverse Flash.

If you go back and pause where Grodd is, you'll see Captain Cold there standing with the other villains.

I'm booing at Green Arrow. Are they really going to be bringing back characters via flashbacks? Now I know Joker will be coming back. NetherRealm has made it pointless for anyone to get killed now in this series. I would've made Scarecrow an exception because I thought he would be resurrected by an elemental force similar to the Green that Swamp Thing represents but I'm doubting that'd be the case 'cause flashbacks. I didn't mind Liu Kang and Kitana coming back pre-revenant in MKX since those served as alternate skins but this? This is dumb.

Huh...

Sadly I'm more worried about Arkham Insurgency being an elaborate hoax than this roster either sucking or having a bunch of dead guys. Green Arrow came as to no surprise for me.

Firestorm revealed

Just one character that wasn't in the reddit leak. Just ONE. Give me some hope here.

Firestorm's not a bad addition mind you but if the base roster really is everyone we see on the list, I'm gonna find that really disappointing. The overall most underwhelming roster I've ever seen in a fighting game.

I wouldn't say this is the worst fighting roster that's mostly unappealed to or disappointed me, but it is kinda up there, though I'm used to it being this way more often than not now sadly. MKX's roster was fking barely passable, it's hardly a surprise this would disappoint as much if not more.

If the Joker's somehow still around and not just a flashback character, then seeing the Red Hood in all his emo glory will be the icing on the cake. "Why is he still not dead Bruce?! Waaaaaah!".

Firestorm was on the leak actually.

Sorry I misunderstood your post.

But at this point I think it's safe to say that the leak is legit and the only chances any character that wasn't listed have of making the roster will be via DLC. So the only characters that are on the base roster left to be revealed are Joker, Scarecrow and Black Adam.

And I'm curious to why people are underwhelmed by the roster. Is it the amount of Batman characters? If so, I can actually understand that. Thing is that the Batman universe alone has more characters that casual players would recognize than any other major DC hero. I doubt a lot of them will rush out to buy Injustice 2 to play as Atrocitus, Blue Beetle, Swamp Thing or Dr Fate because it's likely they won't even know who they are.

They have to appeal to casual players somehow since they make up the majority of the sales. One of the reasons why Street Fighter 5 is struggling in sales is because Capcom tried to appeal more to the hardcore fanbase.

Swamp Thing got in due to fan demand, Blue Beetle is gaining momentum being practically in every DC animated movie and TV show this generation, and Fate is also the result of fan demand. Only reason Batman's gallery is dominating the roster is WB being greedy morons, that doesn't mean his world is the only one everybody knows. You'd be surprised how many didn't know who the heck Deadshot was before Suicide Squad and he's only in the game to promote it.

That or they made it console exclusive. Also the lack of content at launch.

Actually to most people, Batman IS their DC universe. And it's not just because of his movies. It's also his cartoons(especially Batman TAS) as well as his video games. The other DC heroes don't get as much exposure. Though some people may recognize other Superman characters as well.

I do agree that Deadshot only got in to promote Suicide Squad and wasn't that well known beforehand. Though people that played Arkham City and Arkham Origins would probably recognize him. I don't even consider him to be a Batman character anyway.

The lack of content at launch is exactly what I'm referring to. A year later and one particular mode that's still missing has been a staple in fighting games for over 20 years.

I've seen people claim it's due to the roster choices. The initial 16 characters could have been just simply the SSF2 characters and the results in sales wouldn't had been that much different.
