Bingo, and I have a problem with peoples definition of "diversity". Grab 4 random white folk off the street: that's a diverse group. Why? They will all be different people, hold different beliefs and ideals.
Yet for some diversity comes down to skin color, genitalia, and who you stick that genitalia in. So diversity in everything but thought. You can look different, but you sure as hell better think exactly the same as us, that's the SJW motto.
This movie was shit and I hope they learn a lesson. But then again they made a shitload of money off of it, so they probably won't. This picture tells you all you need to know:

EDIT: And I remember the Marvel thing, I remember they freaked out when someone there said all the SJW-ish comics were doing poorly, and then reassured them those comics would stick around(spoiler alert, a lot of them did not stick around). And why? Why did it fail? Because the people whining over it are not the ones who buy comics. They catered to a small but obnoxiously loud group and it backfired.

Other races can be in stuff I guess, but really I just want to see more white people. If you have more not-white people in things, you're obviously pushing an agenda. My agenda of more white people is more important.
This is something that is so important to me that it ruins the enjoyment of a movie for me and makes me rant about how people shouldn't care about this stuff because if they do they clearly have issues.

This is something I don't understand about the left and right wing people. The SJW and diversity monks are as racist as the white power people. No difference if it comes to the mindset, really. Both would slaughter each other just because their opinions differ. If you are non white and not male you will be treated or appraoched differently by the SJW people, the same is true for the right wing people.
In the 90 we had shows like Captain Planet, Defenders of the Earth and successfull movies with different kind of people, they were so successfull because the people didn't care if someone is black or white or whatever as long as the movie was good. We had a shit of diversity without needing to name or blatantly point towards it. Now all that matters are the target groups and political agendas, and the script is written by Marketing Experts and political manipulators instead of people who just want to tell a good story.
That is why both are biased and silly. My logic doesn't change and truly treats everyone as equals. It's silly when people cry both ways. The companies have the right to hire who they want.

I also think that companies should do what they want. If I can't enjoy something because the people in charge try to enforce their real world opinions/agendas (doesn't matter if right or left) through the medium I consume for entertainment, I have the choice of not buying it and do something else instead. This is the only "power" one has these days. If enough people have the same "taste/opinion" and the company doesn't make the money they expected, it's on them to decide what to do.
Last Jedi is doing great and will make about 1,2 to 1,4 Billions. If this is what they want more power to them. If Episode 9 is successful, good for them and the fans of the new direction. There is enough alternative entertainment for those who don't like this direction to consume.
So Live and let live. Rate things good, rate things bad, make videos and write blogs. Whatever helps you feel better. In the end the money will decide.
