Let me let you in on a famous saying: "Actions speak louder than words". In other words, it's better to judge and place trust in a person based on what they've done more than what they say. Mouths can lie, but actions speak undeniable truths.
If I were to go by your argument that corrupt people can just change their ways and go against what has helped them in the past, then why shouldn't I vote for Hillary? She says she is going to reject the TPP and repeal Citizens United, the very campaign financing that gets her wealthy. Did Hillary see the things that are bad for America even if it helped her in the past?
Like I said, if that's the case, why not vote Clinton? She claims she's made mistakes and will change her ways by rejecting the TPP and Citizens United. Why is Trump capable of this magical philanthropy redemption but not her?
And what about Trump's actions? Outsourcing to Mexico and China seems to contradict his American manufacturing dreams.

So already the "Make America Great Again" platform has been proven to be bullshit because he can't even stop himself from outsourcing, less lone other companies, so our manufacturing sector isn't coming back. And the Mexican government has repeatedly stated they will not pay for a wall. So that's not happening.
Everything he says he is going to do is impossible, unless he decides to violate the constitutional and impose authoritarian law through executive action to implement his law, at which point he would become what you accuse Obama of being, a socialist dictator.
So he's no different than Hillary, a corrupt politician selling pipe dreams for power, with both claiming that they used to be corrupt, but have abandoned their profitably corrupt ways to selflessly help the common people.
The only difference is that after Brexit passed, there were mass reports of minorities being harassed and assaulted by hate groups around the UK, and if Trump gets elected, I don't feel like being harassed and beaten up because the melanin level of my skin and the Arabic origin of my name.
