Wonder Woman clearly had the potential as well with $400mill+ domestic. But did not land as well with internationally.

However, Aquaman is using new technology and the special effects are supposedly out of this world.
Wow. So like a Avatar or Phantom Menace.
Watch And Learn LUCASFILM.
Wow. Insane numbere for China.
[Update(6:05pm Saturday Beijing Time): With strong WOM, Aquaman is looking to make $37M(+54%) on SAT. It's the best SAT increase for any import film which made ¥100M-plus on opening day(FRI only).[/quote]
More: This will push AQM's 3-day opening to be around $90M(¥619M), a record for DEC opening in local currency. It also means AQM will top the lifetime gross of Wonder Woman(¥610.1M), Batman v Superman(¥619.3M) in just 3 days. Justice League(¥690.6M) will be done on MON.
James wan is smart. He knows what the foreign audiences want.

so i watched Aquaman... told folks i wasn't gonna pay until January...
THE GOOD... James Wan... Nicole Kidman...Black Manta...
Manta was good with how little time he was given. I hope WB has plans for him going forward. Always been a faan of Nicole Kidman.. Wan handles the $160 million plus budget well.. Excellent visuals.
THE BAD...Momoa, the plot..
Momoa still can't act. typical plot tropes that aren't even disguised. Dafoe should've had much more to do... A few plotholes but ALL films have them.
THE INBETWEEN...
Patrick Wilson as ORN. Wilson is a talented actor who should've had better lines and better usage of his skillset as an actor. Orn's motives are so atypical of plot devices that have been in other films. Its the same with Arthur's story a few plot points from TDKR are used.
All in all I'd give this 7.7/10
