I have never seen Grendel outright overwhelmed in every single area of combat like that... And the fact that Matt Wagner(the dude who created Grendel) is who wrote that battle/mini, and STILL had The Shadow legitimately beat him, speaks volumes. Imo.
The Shadow's gun-slinging is good enough that he can overwhelm bullet timers with hail storms of lead.

Yeah, though for some reason I can't find my Batman Grendel scans ATM.

Shadow >>> Stealth than Batman, because he can disapear literally from Batman's grasp

Overall better combatant than Batman because he performed better vs Grendel than Batman did ( in part due to marksmanship than straight out H2H). Though h could still take down Kato with a single nerve strike
