How powerful is King Ommin really?

After reading through his RT, I have to say that Ommin is pretty impressive. He's implied to be more powerful than any of the Jedi sent to Onderon to confront him, including Nomi Sunrider and Ulic Qel-Droma (though they obviously surpassed Ommin eventually.) Being descended from Freedon Nadd gives him a pretty strong connection to the Force, though he isn't as powerful as Nadd. He's obviously one of the most powerful Sorcerers in history, maybe even on par with the likes of Naga Sadow in the Force; though I'm not 100% sure about that ranking.

I haven't read TOTJ in a while but I'm pretty sure Ommin was a bug compared to Nadd, whom Sadow should be a peer of.

Just to throw it out there, do you reckon he's a better sorcerer than Palpatine? I mean it just annoys me that he's on record to have mastered every dark side ability (including Sith alchemy) but we have never really seen it. In TCW he has to get Dooku's help and it takes a fair while which won't help in combat so I'd like to think the real, true Sith sorcerers like Sadow, Ommin, Kun etc. are better than Sidious as 'magicians' because it is their specialty...

Even if he hasn't officially mastered all darkside powers it's safe to assume he's mastered most.

Sidious has shown some lone sorcery showings. IE: Invoking Sith spirits, lighting storms across planets, causing fear/aggression in Jedi, creating a giant Sith Spawn, healing Vader, conducting rituals that caused ripples in The Force and increasing Anakin's hunger for power.

I guess it comes down to my ignorance and disapproval of his power. I would much rather the Ancients and the Ancients only to know Sith Alchemy and Sidious just using highly advanced lightning, TK etc.

Like Trocity said, much weaker than Freedon Nadd and Naga Sadow and the like.

Palpatine needed Dooku to exploit his force bond with Yoda. To begin with, the fact that they were able to cast such a comprehensive illusion on a master as powerful as Yoda from such a vast distance is an excellent feat of sorcery.

All of this was with the aid of some massive sith crystal however, not exactly something he can bring into combat. Anyway I doubt Sidious know any combative sorcery powers - or defences for them. And if he can't even defend against Force pushes, then all the worse.
