👆Especially considering Bane ultimately got rid of them by blasting them with Force energy... because yeah, firing blasts of force energy at thin air is how you heal a damaged mind.
I always saw that as a metaphorical victory accomplished through a physical symbol, like whispering bad thoughts into a bottle and then tossing the bottle into an ocean. If there's evidence that Kaan's spirit was real however, I can't argue against that. Would you mind posting the quote?
Also, I always wondered how to make the thumb up thing, let me try it here:
👆
EDIT: It worked!
Now I suspect no one knows the DBT better than DMB, and I trust he has the quote, but just to provide the evidence for why I think that what Bane faced were hallucinations rather than spirits upon re-listening to the RoT audiobook on YT:
*Bane experiences pain in his head when he sees Kaan's apparition.
*Bane senses no other presences besides his and Zannah's when he sees Kaan's apparition.
*Bane notes that the spirits of jedi and sith (including Kaan and Hoth) consumed by the thought bomb had their identities destroyed, leaving only "torn bits".
*Bane himself theorizes that the figure he saw at Kaan's camp was an illusion conjured by his own psyche
*Bane continues getting headaches on his journey to Dxun, with the apparition of Kaan looming over him. Bane notes that this is due to the effects of the thought bomb.
*The apparition of Qordis responds to Bane despite Bane not speaking aloud. He notes the conversation of Qordis is a repeat of past arguments he had with himself before deciding to annihilate the Brotherhood.
*The apparition of Qordis disappears when Bane gives what he deems a satisfactory answer.
*Qordis and Kaan travel with Bane from Ruusan to Dxun, despite in ToR when Lord Kallig states initially that he is too weak to leave his tomb and then later that it takes a lot of energy for him as a spirit to appear to Nox on her/his ship.
*The knowledge Bane got from the holocron pertains to orbalisks, how to use them, dangerous side effects. Bane did not have access at the time to Sadow's teachings that Nadd learned, noting that it would take months, even years to access the knowledge.
*Bane calls upon the darkside from himself and the orbalisks when he releases the burst of energy vanquishing the hallucinations.
Bane knew that the visions of the dead sith wouldn't haunt him anymore after blasting them, a victory achieved by placating his psyche with the knowledge waiting for him in Nadd's holocron rather than vanquishing spirits imo.

Bane's evidently a bit of a skeptic when it comes to Force ghosts, and the fact that Kaan's apparition held knowledge Bane himself didn't know (the location of the tomb), considering Bane of the Sith has Qordis's spirit effecting the physical realm, and considering both Qordis and Kaan's Complete Star Wars Encyclopedia omniscient sections confirm they were force ghosts after death leads me to believe Bane was just being skeptical.

Bane also thought their wasn't a spirit in Andeddu's holocron, despite Legacy confirming that there is, and Andeddu's holocron saying he transferred his spirit into the holocron.Bane's evidently a bit of a skeptic when it comes to Force ghosts, and the fact that Kaan's apparition held knowledge Bane himself didn't know (the location of the tomb), considering Bane of the Sith has Qordis's spirit effecting the physical realm, and considering both Qordis and Kaan's Complete Star Wars Encyclopedia omniscient sections confirm they were force ghosts after death leads me to believe Bane was just being skeptical.
Good points, can't argue against the evidence you bring up. I could see Qordis's spirit being real, but I gotta question why Drew would have Kaan return as a spirit when he's the one who triggered the thought bomb.
Bane destroying sith spirits single-handed does wonders for Banite scaling tho.
