trying to halt an investigation is a textbook example of obstruction of justice. if that doesn't count, then the term has no meaning at all.is this the newest talking point at r/The_Donald?
he's a private citizen now, while before he was a government employee who served at the pleasure of the president.
But where did he try to halt it? Saying you hope he won't do something is not saying you can't do it nor that it shouldn't be done.
What does being a private citizen have to do with anything? I'm talking about when this supposedly happened. The director of the FBI had a president try to obstruct justice over an investigation into someone he is connected with, that is the story. WHY didn't Comey do anything? Report this to anyone? Instead he sat on it for months and suddenly it only comes out once he is fired?
If the director of the FBI is investigating people close to the president and that president full on tries to obstruct the investigation...why was this information sat on? The explanations given so far "they didn't want to mess up the investigation" do not hold water.
