Have you every cared for a young child? It's not as easy as you seem to think. Diapers, baths, feedings, providing stimulation, dealings with tantrums etc., practically 24hr care. But you go on hating on women cos your feel-feelz were hurt.

Yep, they created crossing signals with little figures with dresses on in order to combat unconscious gender bias. This is real people and not an Onion article or something.
But guys wait a minute, this is very very sexist. The idea seems to be that because the person is not wearing a dress they are not female. That's getting dangerously close to saying because a person doesn't have a vagina they are not female. Does this mean women can't wear trousers or not have long hair?

To summarize it: there were 20,000 videos for free accessible to the public of various lectures, etc. Some people claimed it was a slight against disabled people because the videos did not have closed captioning and that it was breaking some law about discriminating against disabled people. So the choice was spend a boatload of money to fix it or just make the stuff no longer available to the public.
Surprisingly they chose not to spend the money to close caption 20,000 videos.
