Somebody recommends adult colouring books to him, but he laughs it off as a 'childish'. Then, one day, he tries it, and it turns out that it works; he starts to worry less and his mind is being distracted from the things that haunt him. But he's worried about the stigma surrounding colouring books, and doesn't want to be seen as a lesser man because of it. Ultimately, he decides, **** it, he's going to use them regardless of what people think.
Is that 'childish'? To me, that would be opposite of childish. That'd be real maturity. But to you, if you saw him sitting on the bus colouring, he's a man-child who needs to stop getting triggered.
See how being judgmental [in a negative sense] is bad? You'd judge someone on something so petty and think of them as childish, despite not knowing their life story or their circumstances. It does no good. Not to you, nor the world.
