Speaking of which, I've got something you'll like:
Originally posted by UrsumelesMy thing with Caedus (and NJO in general) isn't that I hate him, just that every thread featuring him is an echo chamber of "Caedus wins" without any reasoning given. And when reasoning is given, it's usually asinine and biased. Take that thread, for example. The user I debated with held the position that Caedus was making a complete mockery of Kyle Katarn, and could have deflected his attacks in his sleep. Held that position, after posting the whole fight.
Why do you hate Caedus so much, lol.
The whole fight, apart from two quotes suggesting that the Jedi were stalemating Caedus, one being from Caedus himself.
As in, he read the whole fight, read those two quotes. Copy and pasted everything from the fight into that thread, and then consciously omitted those two quotes.
I think it's fairly obvious that Caedus is supposed to be the next coming of Darth Vader, and thus a big deal, but I'm yet to see an argument for him that has convinced me of this. He very much needs his own champion, as Revan has Ant, Bane has DMB, Maul has me, and so on. Ant, perhaps, will be that champion.
Until then, I'll pick up where ziggystardust left off and keep pushing Caedus' fanbase into a corner until they are forced to make a good argument for him, or otherwise find themselves agreeing that he is a sub-Grievous duelist.
(Personally, it seems like a good idea to wank the f*ck out of the Jaina fight, given all of the mitigating circumstances Caedus fought with and still managed to stalemate the NJO's Mace Windu, but apparently that takes backseat to a circumstantial scrap with Luke and beating up relative mooks with TK).

For a Force-user who has access to Force healing, especially a Sith as powerful as Caedus who can thrive off of pain, and access to extremely fast-acting bacta treatment, I'm going to say that his wounds were on their way to recovery, even if they were still bothering him. But I'll address this further later.
Originally posted by ILSYeah, I'll search the quote later.
Hmm, wasn't aware of that. I wouldn't mind someone giving a bit more insight on how they dealt with their injuries and the time between the two fights.Point being, I don't think Caedus was as "immensely hindered" as people would paint him. The proof's kind of in the pudding given how well he did.

There's an accolade somewhere stating that Jedi Battlemasters are masters of more martial arts than most beings know even exist or something.
It's actually their skill with a blade makes them some of the most deadliest beings in the galaxy.
Jedi Masters who focus on the use of a lightsaber to the exclusion of all else, however, are some of the deadliest beings in the galaxy.- Taken from Threats to the Galaxy(Jedi Battlemaster)

It is referring to Battlemasters in the KotOR era, but fair enough.
Seems more generic to me, plus it kind of fits with all the other quotes about the Battlemasters.
Plus I don't think it's right to alienate the whole book to just one era, otherwise there's a few more that could do the same.
