I don't know, if rushing out what seems to be a sensationalistic story based on the facts at the time is fake news then everybody does fake news, because this kind of half baked shoddy reporting happens everywhere, even at CNN.
This is something people are ignoring as well, and it's potentially a far more damaging aspect of this. The sites that truly are all about fake news eventually do get called out, and they tell blatant crazy falsehoods at times.
The "actual" news networks are more subtle with their shadiness. They won't usually just outright make some shit up. Though they will do things like willfully omitting important facts about a story, and just all around manipulating a story in an incredibly dishonest way. It will be rare to find an article on CNN that is 100% fake news, and therein lies the problem, they'll get away with it more and continue to be able to pull the wool over the eyes of their audience.
