I think he'll do great. He really looks the part, and seems like he wants it, too.

Given some of the comments made by Strong, and Levi’s statement that the film could be the DCEU’s version of Guardians of the Galaxy, Shazam! increasingly looks like it’s going to be a very strong part of the future DC movie universe.

I argued this a few years back.
They had the awesome leading man, Kilowog and Ch'p could have bern the Groot/Rocket combo, Katma Tui or Arisa could've done the Gamora deal. Guy could have stolen the show as eager to fight Drax...

Personally would've been even better if they went the extra mile to cast a Aboriginal actor, Since its based on the nu52 version.

Thats a nice pick...!

The article mentions DCs ongoing issues. I think this movie benefits from a character that doesn't have strong ties to the Trinity/JLA in most people's minds.
Feels like its easier for those involved to do their own thing.
