Was rumoured pretty early. And pretty sure He was mentioned in the first official synopsis.

That was needed, to get some excitement for a 2nd reboot.

This needs to steer as far away from the DCEU as possible and be its own thing first.

I'd be fine with him being in the movie as long as it's like a 3 or 4 minute scene, much smaller role than Stark had in Homecoming.

I agree, Stark in Spider-man worked because of the way the MCU franchise has been set up; there's no real reason for Supes to be shoe horned into this movie.
