Personally think he could have done Shazam well, looking at Jumanji.
Wouldn't have minded if they cast him as the hero, but he both looks and fits the role of Adam better, imo.

well scheduling conflicts have been known to happen, however scheduling conflicts are just excuses actors/actresses/movie studios use to hide the fact the actor/actresses don't wanna do the role..

With Dwayne Johnson at the role, he's become the reluctant and morally questionable antihero by the second film; if not the end of the first, they're not keeping Johnson as a straight up bad guy, he sells better as a hero-type. He's be on a kind-of Vegeta arch.
