What a Skywalker logically can do, isn't of relevance. Luke, was able to cause Vader unholy pain the very first time he exhibited offensive telepathic power - logically, that shouldn't have happen either. The same with Kyle Durron, or kid Vitiate.
Force users with insane innate potential can be pretty freaking powerful in certain abilities without actual any prior usages of it.
Leia can be argued to be no exception.

Leia couldn't actually "see" Luke and Sidious duel - only feel ( E.I. waves of Light and Dark) their presence in the Force and she felt that the light, or Luke, was winning the duel as she couldn't actually "see" it with her eyes. No way does this prove she was referring to then using the Force to attack each other, especially when we visually see no Force physical attacks actually being used in the comies.
You're trying to interpret the dark and light waves as Force power being thrown by Luke and Palpatine, but that doesn't make sense at all given the context.

Anakin only helped in cutting Palpatine off the Force. He had no involvement in amping Luke.

That's why some suspect to Leia as using Force Harmony, or something similar, even during the duel because that's exactly the power she used to unlock even more of his potential to make Sids lose control of his Force Storm.
Other than that, I can't think of many abilities that allows one to unlock the potential of another, as it's only been done one other time and that was by Exar Kun.

Severly damage? I don't see how the damage was severe at all.
But now that you have brought this up, this is another piece of proof that Leia's BM was negligible in amping Luke.
Palpatine notes that Leia has improved her Battle Meditation, meaning it is now more potent than it was during the Luke vs Sidious fight.
By its very nature, Battle Meditation not only boosts allies, but also hinders and demoralizes enemies by an equal amount. So if Leia was amping Luke, she was also hindering Palpatine. And if Leia's improved version of the ability could only cause Palpatine some minor harm for a moment or two, then obviously the version she used to amp Luke couldn't have hindered Palpatine very much at all, and by proxy, couldn't have augmented Luke much either.
