Darth Malak vs. Kit Fisto (Sabers only)

Started by Ursumeles2 pages

Kit, yeah.

1. He beat Grievous because Form I is tooled for dealing with multiple opponents, in this case 4 arms that Grievous is using.

2. He beat AoTC Kenobi, who was an Ataru specialist at that point and certainly was not at his prime. Fisto would not be able to outspar RoTS Kenobi.

3. As if Windu knew Palpatine was gonna pull out a saber. And Fisto barely lasted more than the other two.

1. Was debunked.

2. RotS Kenobi sh!ts on Malak as well, lmao.

3. He lasted three moves. Agen, someone who's shitting on Vos, lasted only one. That's good for Kit lmao.

1. Debunked where?

2. Yeah true, Lightsabers only though.

3. He was definitely good at dueling when he had to.

1. CV on mobile is cancer. Just look under "blogs" http://comicvine.gamespot.com/profile/jkbart/.

2. In dueling Obi-Wan shits on Malak 😬.

3. Better than Malak.

Kit Fisto

I wouldn't call all it a definitive debunking. It's well written but doesn't understand what Form I is.

Form I in the hands of anyone but a master of the form appeared to have clumsy bladework, since the form was very direct and overt in its movements. Kit Fisto however mastered Shii-Cho in such a way that it became a highly randomised, fluid and unpredictable fighting style.

Form I is weak against single opponents generally. Why? Because it's direct and easy to predict movements are easily exploited. Masters of the form transform it however. They become so good that their clumsy looking bladework appears to be fluid, like a waterfall. It is randomised, unpredictable in the hands of a master. This mastery allowed Fisto to effectively combat single opponents (such as AoTC Kenobi, an Ataru specialist). But more on that soon.

Another feature of Form I, especially when one mastered the form, was the ability to keep an offence going by continuously cutting off the opponent's angle of attack. Shii-Cho is described by Dooku as a dogged form, because it kept the offensive by constantly preventing the opponent from getting past the practitioners defences by constantly attacking the opponents angle of attacks. Especially in the hands of a master, such as Fisto.

Fisto therefore likely defeated Kenobi (AoTC era) by exploiting Ataru's weak defences and its need for flamboyant attacks by constantly attacking Kenobi's angle of attacks, and since his application of Form I was fluid and unpredictable, it would have been difficult for Kenobi to exploit an opening. Obviously, if it were a random Jedi knight going against Kenobi, their bladework would appear clumsy and it'd be easier to exploit their defence. But since Fisto is such a master of Shii-Cho, he uses its strengths of constant attack and pressure with randomised sequences to stop opponents from exploiting its weaknesses in single combat.

Now let's take this and apply it to what the blog says. It posits that Grievous' use of four Lightsabers would not be similar to an assault by four people. However, Grievous' four arms are described as attacking from many different angles at once, with different strengths, styles and speeds. Does this not simulate four seperate people with different ways of fighting? Sure they are all attacking the front ish area of Fisto, but it seems like four different Lightsabers attacking at different individual speeds, angles, strength of blows etc. are a good simulation of dealing with four different and unique fighters in front of you at the same time.

Fisto's mastery of Form I allowed him, with two Lightsabers granted, to keep up the attack on Grievous by constantly attacking his angles of attack and advancing. Randomised and fluid, Grievous would have no counter. Though I do believe that without the second lightsaber, the four arms would have been too much for him to deal with.

If we put up Fisto against Dooku however, it's a completely different story. A master of Shii-Cho, Fisto would not last long against THE master of Makashi, the Form made specifically to counter Form I. Sure, a master of Form I can make up for it's deficiencies, but even that has its limits.

Another great form to counter Form I is Form VII. It's aggressive randomised assault would leave a Form I practitioner with no idea what angle the strikes are going to come from. Plus the highly aggressive nature of Juyo would easily penetrate the weak defences of Form I in single combat most of the time.

So what is Malak generally accepted as specialising in? Well, the versus series youtubers agree that he used a mix of Makashi, Ataru and Juyo. Two of those forms being counters to Form I.

Lol nobody bothered replying. Is my answer that retarded.
