Cool. Cronenberg's film is an all-time favorite of mine, but I'm okay with seeing it explored again. I don't know anything about this filmmaker, though.

I'd like to see the team behind the Planet of the Apes remakes turn it into a solid franchise... Matt Reeves and such. Something of that quality.

first this now the matrix

as for this remake, I remember reading a few years back Cronenberg was going to remake his movie....not sure if that's still happening.

So a 3rd remake of The Fly. Good job Hollywood.

Agreed, love 1986's The Fly, an all around solid sci-fi. It's something I've been waiting on for a remake for a good 10-15 years now. Glad it's happening now than before, the CGI can be amazing.

SO is this just going to be a "Re-Make" or is this another attempt at FRANCHISING something that doesn't need to be?

I just wonder that cause I suddenly wondered if The Fly was somehow going to be part of the proposed Paramount Monster Franchise they keep trying to get off the ground.

But Matrix isn't all that old?

Anyway, the first remake is very good without being too dated. I hope this one lives up.

When was the third time?

only know of it being done twice now, Including this upcoming one.

Yeah, there's 1958 and 1986.

Didn't '86 have a sequel without Goldblum?

Yeah it did, It was an okay sequel at best.

I know that the old 50's Fly movie got at least 2 sequels. One of which was EXTREMELY WEIRD...for the time anyway.

The remake had a sequel. Not the same thing.

Yep, It featured Goldblum's character's son in that one.

TBF the 1958 movie also had a sequel.

All these things fans complain about, that ruin the sanctity of of movies...have been going on a lot longer than they think. 😛

I actually watched it about a year or so ago and it's actually not bad. It's a decent sequel.
