The guy seems like a slimeball to be sure. To be honest it is not the "child" part that bothers me because the child in this case was apparently 17.

It's wrong, but going from the headline in the article it makes it seem like he was picking up some 10 yr. old. So the guy kinda got double owned here. I guarantee you some people are going to just skim it and see "child prostitution" and draw their own conclusions lol. That in itself is amusing.

Oklahoma lawmaker arrested on child prostitution charges

OKLAHOMA CITY — An Oklahoma state senator was booked Thursday on child prostitution charges for allegedly hiring a 17-year-old boy for sex, leading to calls for his resignation and a separate internal investigation into his years of work with a youth program.

Ralph Shortey, a 35-year-old conservative Republican who has a wife and three young daughters, surrendered to authorities on charges of engaging in child prostitution, transporting a minor for prostitution and engaging in prostitution within 1,000 feet of a church. He was released after about two hours on a $100,000 bond.

"I have no comment at this time, but I will soon," he told reporters outside of the jail. -snip

Full Story here Or google "Raph Shortey", the story appears across various outlets, Fox, Reuters etc. Pick your flavor.

Snippet from wiki of his career: "
Shortey has been married to his "high school sweetheart" since 2002, and now has two daughters. He graduated from West Moore High School in 2000, and studied at Heartland Baptist Bible College in Oklahoma City. He has been in office since 2010 and was endorsed by Arizona Sheriff Joe Arpaio for his anti-immigrant stance, and by Sen. James Lankford (R-OK) for his "conservative principles". In 2012 he proposed a bill outlawing the use of aborted fetuses in food. Beth and Dog the Bounty Hunter hosted a rally for Shortey's election in 2014. During the 2016 Republican presidential primary Shortey endorsed Donald Trump and served as the chair of his Oklahoma campaign. His priorities in the Legislature include personal liberty, fighting illegal immigration and strengthening public safety in Oklahoma. [2]

The part that disturbs me the most is the part where there is a charge for prostitution within 1000 feet of a church.

Holy shit, Oklahoma has some backwards outdated laws.

Also, Age of Consent in Oklahoma is 16. It is the prostitution charges that are getting him.

This is what happens when you oppose the forward progress of MJ legalization (which is what this guy did).

Some people on my Facebook are saying they went to school with him and worked with him and they all say he was a douchenozzle.

Wow. They didn't mention he was a Repub till the 2nd paragraph...The Leftist Media is slipping.

I'm shocked the headline wasn't "Republican lawmaker arrested on child prostitution charges".

Like I said, they must be out of practice. Normally it would be in the very first sentence.

Since you're back to whining; this time over the source, the story appears on Fox as well (as noted in the op) with a very similar headline, sport.

Oklahoma state senator charged in child prostitution case

Child prostitution charges were filed Thursday against an Oklahoma state senator who police say was found with a teenage boy in a motel room in the Oklahoma City suburb of Moore, according to a local prosecutor.

Republican Sen. Ralph Shortey of Oklahoma City was charged with engaging in child prostitution, transporting a minor for prostitution and engaging in prostitution within 1,000 feet of a church. -snip

Your #1 news source Breitbart has the same as well.

Nobody was whining, I was making a joke.

I also can't help but find it amusing that after seeing you whine about people not discussing the topic..when people do begin discussing it you still choose to focus on me making a comment about the title lol.

I posted the story again, just from another source; that's literally being on topic, sport.

Nah, you had to whine about someone else apparently whining first. You didn't even repost the story to stir discussion, you did it to show me that Fox news had also used a similar title and phrasing lol.

Because you were complaining about the source and headline, sport. What a clown. Anyhow.

Yeah, found that church bit very odd too, but decency laws tend to be outdated and often draconian.

Hypocritical douche, since he was getting high while sexing a boy.

Do you really think it's some sort of retaliation though?

That is correct. It is OK for Leftists like Robbie to molest children but Repubs will always be held accountable for it.

That is just how politics work.

As long as you do good work nobody cares if you have raped kids and stuff. If only this senator had written or directed an award winning film..then his actions would be more acceptable.

Oh yes. This rule goes double, no... QUADRUPLE for Hollywood Leftists.

Tomi Lahren while on 'The View' claimed she was pro-choice: "I can say, you know what, I am for limited government so stay out of my guns and you can stay out of my body as well." -T. Lahren

Which is hilarious, since she has apparently called pro-choice people "baby killers" in the past. Oh conservatives...

Question, is liberal conservative a legit thing? Because I think that's how I roll. I think that is why I have not really had a political party to get behind. This may also explain why I don't care as much about a specific person.

That is because the TV Networks made her say it.
Cause that is what Leftists do... Force their Opinions on you.

Like Killing Babies. Lefties LUV DOING THAT!

This is what Libertarians are for.

^ How does that work though? on the major issues, I lean on different sides. I'm not all the way on the left or the right.

Ideally: You pick which candidate holds more of your views regardless of the letter in front of their name and accept that you're likely never going to agree with them 100%.

eg I wanted Kasich to take the Republican nomination, as his views of strengthening the economy were sound, at least what little time he got to talk about them in between Trump's rants during the GOP debates.
