1. Religion isn't answering where God came from either.

2. Of course not, becaause that's not the point of evolution. There are other theories of how life came to be. Sadly, I'm not very well versed on them, someone else (@socool @PatientLeech one of you, maybe?) can maybe give you your answers.

3. We aren't the only species on earth with intelligence, lol. Though we are most likely the smartest one.

Religion is different, because there is no basis for it.
For example, we can actually observe evolution on a small scale.

I guess it's pretty obvious that I've explained why it's a theory. But if you just ignored what i said, then it's your problem.

1. Religion's purpose isn't for you to understand God. Just like you claim Evolution doesn't explain why it life came to be.

2. Science hasn't been able to explain why life came to be. No scientist ever has come with a clue of how it happened. That's why there is Religion and that's why Humanity hasn't become God.

3. Self awareness to make it more specific. You can't compare a Dolphin's intelligence to ours.

Anyway, millions of years ago there was only one species with wings. And then it evolved into a bunch of other species with wings. That's what evolution is.
