Good question. On that same note though, we need more of a consensus on how combat applicable it is. We present it as a "stun to KO" type of attack on the forums, but it's usually something he uses to run away. It's like being bodily present mucks with the illusion, or maybe the "casting" takes effort he can't afford to spare when someone is all over him.Look at the Pyslocke fight(scans). Or his multiple scuffles with the Deathloks. Or when he fought Deadpool. Or Agent Zero. or AoA Iceman.

He also uses it when fighting teams, such as with the Horsemen, directing their attacks at each other.
I use it to mean, in character, he doesn't actually fight straight up. He IS A thief, after all.
Usually on the forums, I use it as a time buyer. In a forum fight, another point to note is that running away isn't an option - but shooting them in the face, is.
Or in this case, letting the rest of his team go to town on them.

Similar happened with AoA Nightcrawler, along with others I've already mentioned. I know the ability is deliberately kept vague, but I'm not sure he can always just hold them in place while his team goes to town. We could discuss some scans later I guess.

Why tought is faster than light? This makes no sense, imo is bad writting, and is not even consistent in comics. Who have lightspeed...thinks in lightspeed...
