Scrib I can give you a brief brief summary. Apparently, hate crimes are rising, but...the thing of it is that in the last several years more and more police departments are providing their stats for hate crimes, etc. So obviously the number is gonna rise as more places provide stats.So it's increasing because of more participation, but there is also the fact that hate crimes against whites have represented a significant rise as well. So when the media says "hate crimes are on the rise" they don't get specific because they know most people will assume they are crimes just against blacks or muslims, etc.
IOW: We've been fed an utter steaming pile of horseshit, and they do it because they know people won't do proper data analysis.

I agree with her sentiments: you're doing your students a disservice by not exposing them to the arguments on certain topics and issues. You will not equip them for the real world. You will not teach them how to debate bigoted and even seemingly intellectual ideas.
The administrator talking in the vid (sounded like a teenage boy) was wrong when he said it was like teaching the students arguments for why racism is okay. That's not true at all. It's like teaching the students what arguments racists use to justify their racism. That's definitely something I would want my children to learn.
Also, she did the one thing I teach all of my female employees never to do: cry in the professional world when upset. That gives your aggressors so much power and "win" over you and the situation. Some think it can be used as an emotional manipulator to get out of a tough situation or to convince their aggressor to side with them. But in the long term, that is not at all what happens. It, instead, makes the person feel like they've won and that she is weak. Why do I know this? Because I hear those exact words post-situation from the aggressors. They thrive on those tears. I tell my female employees to practice their arguments with others or by themselves and to emotionally and mentally prepare for the confrontation and argument so they do not cry. And then after the situation, go somewhere private and cry their eyes out until they feel better. Never give those assholes the satisfaction of seeing your tears. 😠

Oh, yes, kind of makes me buttmad. I don't like to be bamboozled by a place I am supposed to trust. Even if their perspective is slanted, I should be able to easily pick up on that because it will show in their writing. But something so outrightly misleading hurts my feefees. 🙁

Yep, in the past it seems like a teachers job was to actually...teach their students knowledge, etc. Now it seems they have to basically not only do that, but shield them from the entire world as well. Admittedly I guess if you teach younger kids you have to be part babysitter and part teacher in a way, but now we are seeing this with adults as well. The alarming thing is this woman who did this is not normal. She is more than likely a rarity among teachers these days.
Btw, what kinda business you run? You should just show the women a clip of Tom Hanks from "A League of Their Own" where he says there is no crying in baseball. Boom, done.
