He then developed a drug habit his family blames on PTSD and he went to prison for selling cocaine

The only way to pay for a drug habit is by selling drugs sometimes. Have a little empathy for Veterans, they have some of the highest suicide and drug abuse rates for a reason

I do have empathy, and maybe if it was some drug like weed it would be different, but selling cocaine...I have seen the destruction that drug can cause to communities.

I guess yeah. if it were up to me I'd let him stay, but I just think that goes too far...but if I was really pressed. I guess I'd need more details.

Look I'm not gonna argue in favor of deporting the guy, or argue against it. I'm just gonna say that it's much more complex than "Oh Trump has a hardon for deporting people so much he just does it to veterans willy nilly"

Perez "was blown out of his Jeep in Kandahar," and that he suffered a traumatic brain injury (TBI) and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) as a result of the blast. Perez told The Chicago Tribune last month that grenade and roadside bomb explosions during his tours led him to lose much of his hearing and suffer headaches.

After returning home from Afghanistan, Perez told the Tribune he longed for the adrenaline rush from combat and eventually turned to cocaine.

This would be a weird scene in that movie.

No it's not complex. Deporting men and women who have put their lives on the line to serve our country is beyond crossing the line. Particularly when they develop PTSD and brain trauma as a result of their service and instead of helping we locked them up.

Lol these people are weasels.

CNN host admits he let David Hogg tell lies during interview. Just wait until you hear his reason.

"There were a few times I wanted to jump in and say, ‘Let’s correct that fact.’ And at one of the times I did and other times I did not. There’s always that balance, how many times you’re going to interrupt,” Stelter said.

Stelter explained that he only corrected Hogg when the student claimed that Dana Loesch is the CEO of the National Rifle Association. Stelter did not mention which falsehoods he let slide."

Gee, no shit.

This fits here too.

Yeah I'm not arguing in favor of the decision. I'm saying leaving out the part about selling cocaine when mentioning the article or describing what happened is a very disingenuous way of framing the whole situation.

No it's not. Veterans are guilty of domestic abuse, murder, drug abuse, stealing, rape etc... Going to War causes certain damages to the brain and it's our responsibility to take care of and rehab these fallen heroes. That's not even supposed to be a question

Disregard everything I just said it's ****ed up

I will own up to a serious lapse in judgment and **** up by not reading the full article.

Serving in the military should get you citizenship, and the dude already served a prison sentence for selling the cocaine.

****ed up decision, I repeal everything I just said.

Sorry, just because the guy was fit to serve, protect and if need be die for this country, it doesn't mean he's fit to be a citizen. He got hurt while in the line of duty for this country? Too bad, snowflake. We got deporting to do.

From the "you don't support the troops!!!1!" type of people, no less.

I'll be sure to read the full article in the future.

And yes, two things I actually still agree with the dems on is that the war on drugs is ****ing stupid, and that treatment of mental illness and shit isn't that great.

Look I already owned up to failing to read the article and reneged on the statement he was replying to.

There's no "gotcha" moment when I conceded I was wrong.

It wasn't just to you as this isn't a new story about this guy.

I also commented not long after you owned up to your foul; I hadn't read it yet. So what I said no longer applies to you and you're free from my snark. Kudos on reevaluating your position though 👆

Okay kewl, feel free to keep coming after the others.

I defend other right-wingers on a case by case basis.

I like how he calls it "FOUL" when Robbie him/her/it-self has admitted to the same act.

Well, damn. Nice. 👆

Neat! And if it was up to me I'd let him stay too.

13-year-old student receives 2-day suspension for simply sketching a gun

"WABC reported that Roseboro-Salemburg Middle School in Roseboro, North Carolina, suspended the seventh-grade boy for the picture.

According to the station, school Superintendent Eric Bracy explained that the young man was suspended in an effort to remain “extra vigilant about all issues of safety” as a result of “everything happening in the nation.”

Lol

I don't blame the school for having a zero tolerance policy for things like this in today's age. That said if this is his first time drawing a gun then suspension I believe is too much. Should have just told the kid not to draw guns in school anymore and if he did it again, then maybe suspend.
