This is actually a sad development where business can be abused because they would fear accusations of racism.
There could come a time where most business would no longer put whites as front liners or decision makers so that these things can't happen (at least that is what I would do if these things became pervasive). In which case, that would indeed by a form of institutional racism.

Meanwhile another Chick-Fil-A is going to be built in NYC and leftists are freaking out. I guess cuz...Christians? And one guy at the New Yorker whining said they have bible verses on the walls in their corporate headquarters, oh lawdy!

Well, that WAS just one guy. We shouldn't paint an entire city based on the opinion of one person. He's a bigot but there always are ppl like that. I just hope there was condemnation from both sides of the political spectrum for that guy (I didn't read up anymore on the matter after going thru his article).
Ppl should just condemn the writer and move on. He isn't worth the time of concern in our heads.

If this was an isolated incident of lunatic liberals freaking out over Chick-Fil-A I might agree, but it's not. We've seen this before. Like when a college campus got a Chick-Fil-A and everybody was triggered over it.

I'm not sure without understanding the manager and her experience if this is race driven, I would give her the benefit of the doubt given phili's culture and I think something else might be at hand.
It's not a popular topic and given the nature of starbucks and their business they are likely to acquiesce regardless of the situtation.
