Cornell student protests ‘systematic oppression’ by presenting her senior thesis in her underwear
I'm thinking maybe we were too quick to get rid of insane asylums in this country.

I 100% agree with and support what this student did to protest her catty b*tch of a professor trying to ****-shame her for wearing short-shorts to class. If I was in the class with Chai, I would have stripped down to my boxer briefs to show support (lol, pun...because balls).
Here's something you don't understand, Surtur: freedom of expression is important and that also means letting people dress like prostitutes and not judging them for it.
At work? Probably not okay. Public Institutions such as universities? Go to town. Dress like a ho-bag.
Surtur...freedom, man. Freeeeeedom. When you are presented with a situation where you don't know what the proper outcome should be, err on the side of "let the person do what they want as long as it doesn't harm anyone." Speak, say, think, and dress how you want. And even as who you want.
So while I may deride SJWs for their dislike of people doing the "cultural appropriation" thing, I also deride those who try to ****-shame.
HOWEEEEEEVVVVEEER!!!
This part of the article rustled my jimmies:
“The majority of us are students of color, from multiethnic backgrounds, who very much relate to Letitia’s frustration with systemic oppression that is part of the fabric of this country,” the statement read. “We do not want to discredit [Letitia’s] narrative.”
Holy shit, this person needs to STFU. This has nothing at all to do with multiethnic backgrounds. They are trying to now make this a race or ethnicity issue. And that's just 100% dishonest and worse than the professor ****-shaming.
I mean they can dress like that if they want I don't care, but damn she was on the verge of tears over this lol. It's not like she was gangraped, she got told her dress was too short.
EDIT: And yep, SJW"s make everything about race or gender. Didn't like Hilary? It was cuz she was female. Didn't like Obama? It's cuz you hate blacks.
12-year-old autistic boy arrested for playing with imaginary rifle at school. It only gets worse.
Lol..oh leftists. Just when I think you've outdone yourselves when it comes to crazy....you go "f*ck you Surtur, you ain't' seen nothing yet". Top notch.
Kid shoulda known it was an imaginary gun free zone. Coincidentally, the safety gun free zones provide is also imaginary. Ohohoho

Should have shown them his "imaginary permit to carry".
Holy shit. This is just retarded (and no, I don't mean the child that got arrested over an imaginary rifle who was suffering from autism).
It looks like we live in an age where ppl fear imaginary weapons and are punished for figurative crimes.

It's these kinds of incidents that remind me of this lol:

While that story is ridiculous, funny to blame it on "Leftist" considering it's Texas and the police arrested him, when they should have gone "no, just call his parents".
Well, I can't speak for others, but I didn't specifically think "left" when I read that. As far as I am concerned, any adult who phones the cops on an autistic 12-year-old over something like this is an idiot, regardless of their political or social beliefs. And yeah, those cops were no better. Should have told the teacher to call the mom. I just hope the poor kid wasn't totally traumatized by the whole thing.

The freedom to express yourself is powerful but when you live in a society with different social values across the board and being that we are humans its a bit ridiculous to maintain that certain expressions won't be judged, just like freedom of speech doesn't mean you can't/won't be judged or ostracized for expressing certain beliefs.

I agree. I don't see it as a left/right thing. Just humans being stupid as f*ck.
Personally, I don't get where Surt got the "leftist" from (at least at this point). Will need to find out more details on what the motivations were from the teacher/police. There really isn't enough evidence (at least to me) to conclusively prove this was a "leftist" act at all.
Although, I will also disagree on implication that "Texas" and "police" being some kind of counter-proof of them being leftist (unless there are stats that 100% Texan police are republicans?).
I could be wrong, of course, and would love to listen to arguments.

Yup.
He'll use anything to attack "Leftist", even boogeymen.
I wasn't blaming any groups as I don't know the politics of the teachers/cops involved, just pointing out that it's Texas police, so if there is any political aspect to the story, it's most likely not the Left, unless Texas cops are known for this?
I mean, you could argue there's a left-wing political element embedded in the education system since those running the education system tend to be disproportionately left-wing, seems unfounded to make such implications about the Texan police though, though maybe someone could look at the political leanings of the specific location this took place in idk
I wasn't talking about the cops, I meant the people at the school.
Cops should have never been there in the first place. If some want to pretend like this art teacher who got spooked most likely isn't a leftist? Go for it.
The cops just sound like dicks too, they didn't do the right thing. But it should have never gotten to that point.
College demands student remove Jesus, Bible references from graduation speech. Then she fights back.
I find this religion awful and yet still found this stupid. Her deciding to include some bible verse in a speech is not the same as the school itself endorsing the religion.
Full disclosure: also assuming the people who wanted it removed were leftists.
Yeah. If you are going to do stuff like that in school...Do THIS!

Hmm...
Well, if it is a private university, they can do that. If the student is required to say, "This speech is my own and does not represent Acme University" at the beginning, that should be okay, too, right?
I wouldn't be offended if someone said, "I grew up atheistic and this forced me to think critically and empirically which lead me down my current path to academic success", I wouldn't be offended even a little bit and wish them success. So why would I be offended if someone said, "I grew up believing in Odin and the teachings helped me stay focused which lead me down my current path to academic success", I'd think that's interesting at worst.

Well I would think it should be a given to adults that a students graduation speech doesn't equate to the beliefs of the university itself. But yeah, even just saying "make sure it is clear these are your own views" would be better than telling her to pull it out.
I wonder if she was a Muslim making references to Allah or Muhammad...would they have said anything? Not only would they probably not have said anything, if some student afterwards had said it offended them they'd be called Islamaphobic lol. Can you imagine a country where the majority of people are muslim and in that country it was acceptable to shit all over Islam, but even the slightest criticism of Christianity would get you shamed?

Should you really play the high moral game? Don’t you do the same thing when it comes to Trump? Don’t you call any of defends Trump trumpers and the likes?
