It's not like some old codger in FBI HQ just sits around throwing darts on a wall to come up with these labels. These things get analyzed with fairly robust scientific models before concluding they represent genuine threats to state.
This reminds me of just the different dynamics of the left and the right and how they treat these extremists. For example I was recently reading an article about this jewish Democrat speaking out against Kirsten Gillibrand for letting Linda Sarsour introduce her at an Anti-Kavanaugh rally.
And that struck me as the difference. You wouldn't see prominent Republicans going and having someone like...Richard Spencer introducing them at any rally lol.
It essentially seems to boil down to this: the alt right/nazis have killed people, but antifa is more embraced by their side than the right does with the nazis. And yes Trump said some dumb shit, but I don't think it is the same. However, by Antifa being embraced even a little bit is going to embolden them.
And yes Antifa gets brought up when nazis are brought up...and it's precisely for the reasons DMB said.
