It defies all logic because blacks make up nearly 20% of the military. Now consider out of the total population of America(a little over 320 million) blacks make up only 14% of that total population.
It reminds me of how people are claiming the NFL is racist because nobody will hire Colin Kaepernick despite the fact black players make up 70% of the NFL.

Which is true. Exercise is BETTER then meds. Dr. Katz himself complained, and they changed the headline.
Another widely distributed newsletter called Physicians Journalwise had the headline "In adults with type 2 diabetes for < 10 y, a lifestyle intervention was not equivalent to standard care for glycemic control."
Yeah. I wouldn't call being BETTER as equivilent, either.
Pretty shady practices. Dr. Katz is nicer about it, and phrases it as "Those holding the silver spoons may not want you to have the spoon you need to help lifestyle as medicine go down. That just means it's time to invent new spoons."
To call this triggering is an understatement.

Just going back to this, if it was just about being concerned that trans people will be denied care there is literally no reason to include anything about using the correct pronouns.
