As a fan, this is painful to read from you. It implies that diversity and quality cannot be synonymous. They are not separate things. Quality is everywhere but most industries only believe in quality from one demographic. And now, here you are.

King's words are being distorted here. He never said quality and diversity are opposed, yet somehow that's what they took from him.
I mean, if you want to argue he's wrong about his choices, that could be a valid argument. But they literally seem to be saying if you say you can't find the best quality work in a pool of diverse representatives, you MUST be racist. As if there is no way it can be anything else, and as if King wasn't pretty obviously arguing against tokenism, a.k.a. diversity for the sake of diversity against all other criteria.
